Simple Thread. Please dont justify your answers. I am interesting in seeing the results.
Who averages more PPG?
Deonta - Two time ALL Big East player. Going back to his natural position and has a PG. Is not going to be counted on to score all the points and can not be the other teams only focus.
Lance - NY All time leading scorer. Can straight up score the ball. Will be in first year in the Big East. Undoubtably a NBA talent.
All I need is a one word anwer. Either Lance Stephenson or Deonta Vaughn.

So assuming that Lance is cleared to play, I see him scoring a lot of points probably close to what Deonta scores, but having a lower shooting percentage. I think the transition to BE bball is going to be a little rough for him at first, he will no longer be a man amongst boys.
I still think Deonta takes the overall PPG, but just by a point or two. But I bet his shooting percentage is going to be great this year, not having to worry too much about running the offense and having defenders not being all over him since they have to worry about our other scorers. Also having a true point guard being able to get him the ball in a good scoring position.
I also think Yancy has a great year and could come close to having as many PPG as Lance.

Deonta Vaughn
What's your opinion on how many points Yancy will score. Do you think he has a chance of hanging with LS or DV? With some of the other big dogs gone from the BE, and with some more time in the weight room and the addtl experience of being a soph instead of fresh, do you think he has a break out year?

Yancy should average between 12-14 ppg, having a true point guard on the floor along with Vaughn and Lance will mean much more easy opportunities for Gates. I see Vaughn and Lance a tad more maybe about 14-16 points I would guess. Vaughn's shooting percentages are going to skyrocket this year too, I would expect he reverts back to soph season form now that he can play his natural position again.

I say Deonta. Playing his natural position. Not being double-teamed nearly as much. Yancy as a threat down low and Lance as a thread to penetrate from the perimeter means DV gets more open shots.

Lance. Deonta will likely be focused on winning his senior year - that may mean dishing it a little more. His PG time proved he's a good passer to boot. Lance will start building his NBA resume as soon as he gets PT.

Lance. Deonta won't have to shoulder the scoring burden like he did the last two years, and he'll take his open shots, but I expect his assists to climb. I give Lance 15/gm, and DV 13.

If will be difficult for Lance to score more than Deonta because Lance is not eligible to play college basketball, the NCAA has not cleared him as of today.

I think we're going to have a case where 3 or 4 people average between 12-15 ppg. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Lance, Deonta and Yancy all averaging 14ppg.

Lance = more ppg
Vaughn = higher shooting percentage.

Can you 100% guarantee that the NCAA will clear Lance to play for UC? If not then why bother with posts about Lance until he is cleared. Harnal Hall, John Reik, etc., etc., been down this road too many times.

Why talk about Jaquon or Sean. Have either of them been cleared? If you guys are waiting for a official release saying he has been cleared I dont think it is going to happen. He is just like any freshman. We wont hear a big announcement for Sean being passed through. Neither will we for Lance.

I was just getting ready to post the same thing. Ralph, stirring up the pot the other way is just as bad as when you were stirring up the pot with Riek, Evans, Payne, etc. Please stop, it's getting annoying, again.

Ralph has turned from the eternal optimist to an extreme pessimist. He will be cleared, there wont be some big press conference, and you will go back to saying that UC will win the NC.

"the Ralph" has been right just about zero percent of the time. With that said, we can safely bet that LS will be cleared.

In this case, with utmost repect to a fellow poster and UC fan, Ralph can also be used as a verb.

Against overmatched teams, Vaughn will score more. Against UConn, Louisville, Memphis, etc. Stephenson will be leading scorer (assuming he plays).

Lance will score more points than Deonta per game and with his dunks also have a higher shooting percentage. My concerns for Born Ready are free throw shooting, playing full court press, and getting thru the clearinghouse.

Lance will lead the 2009-2010 Bearcats in scoring, he may try for Oscar's season record of 35.1 ppg, if he gets cleared by the NCAA to play.
