For all those saying it's just a Div. II team........atleast we went out and thumped them like we should. Some past UC teams might have done half of what this year's team did.

It's good to see the offense so dynamic. I'm fired up as a fan. I hope they nail Oregon State to the wall next week.

Loved to see Kelly and hear his comments at half-time. He will not tolerate anyone not giving their best effort. He also works with the kids to improve what they thought was their best effort. This guy is not simply about fancy offensive coaching schemes, rather he is about getting more out the kids at the natural abilities than anyone else can get.

I hope he sees recruiting success at UC or he will go to a more attractive school in 3-4 years. By attractive, I mean attractive to the recruits. We don't have slouch players out there now, but if the starting QB the last two years is only a junior and now 3rd string...you get the point.

Mauk and Pike we both impressive! I would have liked to see more out of the WR position, can't coach speed. I predict 10 wins this year! Our defense stuffs Louisville and we outshot WV to get two quality victories. We will also outshoot Oregon State!!

I like your attitude, but if we beat UL and WV, who are your two losses (you said 10 wins)?

I'm also not going to speculate on what may, or may not happen in 3 to 4 years. I'm going to enjoy this season because its going to be fun. Big home games, exciting offense, tough defense. Let's get this party started !!

Really liked what I saw in Tony Pike. He looked every bit as good as Mauk. You could tell Byrd wasn't playing on a few plays. With him in the lineup I think SEMS doesn't get half the yards on the ground that they got.

The defensive adjustments at the half were nice. The Cats gave up some big plays in the first half. They didn't seem to in the second half. It will be nice to have Byrd back next week. As for the QBs, I don't recall getting to see how Pike's arm strength was. While he (Pike) might have been more poised, Mauck seemed to have the strength. We'll see how he plays next week. I think Mauck will be less anxious having this game under his belt. The best part of last night (other than holding SEMO to 3 points) is that Kelly has things to work on with the team...and he will pound it into the players heads all week. He won't let them celebrate. It'll be back to work. I am still worried that the Defensive scheme won't be as good as last year, due to the fact that we have a different d-coordinator at the helm. Hopefully my concerns will be tempered next week.
