Interesting, this has zero to do with UC athletics, but it's not closed. Pitino, which has FAR MORE relevance to UC, is closed. Go figure.

I would be careful not to suggest a poll

C'mon Matt, don't beat around the bush. You know why the thread was closed. The thread started changing immediately when LT brought up a comparison of the Louisville and UC administrations on how they will handle the dismissal (or not) of their coach. At that point we got back into that never ending shouting match dealing with Huggs dismissal. My guess is that if the thread stayed on Pitino it would still be open.

The thread on Pitino's indiscretions was closed because it has no relevance to UC athletics. It's the typical off-the-field tabloid drama that seems to be all the rage with major American sports nowadays. If you want to talk about Pitino's personal life, go to a Louisville board where I am sure this topic is quite hot right now.

Talking about Evans while also OT is much more tolerable because it deals with on-the-field matters.

^ Also, you can log on to cincinnati.com and discuss the RP topic. It seems to be very hot there as well. The one thing that many point out is that his contract has clauses about this very thing so it will be interesting to see how it plays out with this future hall of fame coach. Enough already, go to cincinnati.com.

There again, you close a thread about UC the UNIVERSITY and EDUCATION, and keep this one open? Boy this has turned into a real crock of you know what. I'd really like to understand what goes through the moderators minds.. do you just pick and choose what you like and go from there? Seriously? Excuse me for being harsh, but I find it ridiculous that this thread that has ZERO relevance to UC athletics is still open while a genuine issue brought forth ABOUT UC is closed, I don't get it, really I don't.

I hate to say this, but I agree w/ Matt. Va Tech has nothing to do with UC sports. We don't play them this year, so...???

Pitino, on the other hand, has a lot to do with UC basketball. We play them at least once a year, and Mick recruits head-to-head against him for many prospects. Pitino's personal reputation is particularly relevant to these recruiting contests, which do affect UC.

I understand the mods might not care for "typical off-the-field tabloid drama"... but guys, it's not like there's a lot happening on the field right now and it's a major news story that everyone's talking about involving one of our biggest rivals.

This is a sports forum, not a tabloid forum. On the field matters will get a lot more leeway than off the field garbage unless the off the field stuff directly invokes someone on UC's football or basketball team. Like I said in an earlier post, in the off the field garbage really floats your boat, I sure there are plenty of other places to discuss those subjects. That stuff will kept off of this board.

Because people are tired of here the b*tching and moaning about Bob Huggins, which is exactly what that was turning into. Let it go. This is their board, they can do whatever they want with it. This is a privately run board so they have 100% control of it.

Interestingly enough, with ESPN.com's "VILLAINS" series it's running right now with college football, Brian Bennett chose none other than, Darren Evans, as UC's Current Villain... Ohio State was the Historical Villain...
