You might want to be careful putting your e-mail on the board in the clear... it may get harvested and lead to an increase in spam...
Otherwise, I like the idea, but think a lot of folks (like Shaun) are easy to pick out since they are still using their names...

I feel somewhat saddened about losing the "familiarity" the e-mail format provided. There are already a whole bunch of "posts" from people using phony posting names making it impossible to identify who they actually are. I'm not suggesting that there is anything wrong with their posts, just that when Zuke or Aji sent an e-mail I knew who I was dealing with, even if I didn't know them personally, I still felt I was dealing with a real person I knew. I know that time marches on, and I'm not adverse to change (for example, I have a new computer and am learning all things that Vista does) but I will miss the old format.

I'm just trying to get used to this new format today. I was a long time emial forum member. My initial reaction to this was I probably would not use this new format. I'm starting to warm up to it today. This is my post/reply...

Frankly, I'm against cutesy names, bizarre abbreviations and the like on message boards, but it is too hard to be objective on such things, so folks will sign up with what ever bizarre anagram they choose.
I chose mine purposefully a long time ago.
- My name is "Mike"
- And since I am a Bearcats fan I decided that I was "in Clifton".
Now I use the moniker everywhere even though I don't live in Clifton and haven't in years.
Someone is posting as "IKnowMoreThanYou". What? Gimme a break.
His posts are fine, but that is a really dum screen name regardless of the knowledge level compared to others.
The good news is that I know everyone's real name, real email address and IP address since I am a Forum admin and I can call them out whenever I like.
So be good.

I've been cpawfan on message boards for years so that is what I stick with. Of course, in most places, I'm the only Bearcat fan.
I've been a member of the forum since the gooner days and received the old e-zine. Mostly been a lurker though for that time

I used to be jmrexhau at yahoo.com. I'd like this to continue, this way I can still use the same voices in my head that I was using before.

I'm Jeff Tompkins, BS, 1974, now in St. Louis
Bearcat fan since about the same time as Tom. I got Oscar's autograph in the Fieldhouse when the team came back from one of the NCAA's.
Went to Colerain when they couldn't beat Seton in Football.
I loved Huggins, but got over it. Love Mick and where the program is going.
My father was a UC alum as well and knew Jucker and Geo. Smith.

Been contributing lightly to this forum for half a year i guess.
My dad worked at UC, and got his PHD from UC... That kind of got me into the cats
Had basketball season tickets for several years(they got expensive so my dad just stuck with football)
Been going to about every UC football game my entire life. Love UC football. Even hit up road games at VT, Louisville, and OSU last season(0-3 in the bunch but they were fun)
My senior year in high school i actually bought my own season ticket to basketball...great investment.
I use bearcatmark for anything and everything, just seems to work for me.
Also i like the knew format, because it is easier for me to respond. I like the way it's organized...just hope it stays moderated well and continues to provide good bearcat talk

The e-mail address in the reply post has been removed.
If you wish to post an e-mail address, only post your own. Do not post the e-mail addresses of other subscribers. If you use "quote reply", make sure that quoting is not bringing in an e-mail address unintentionally. Thanks!
