Anybody out there close enough to the program to give us a glimpse of how some players are looking in work outs this fall? Perhaps what Mick has the players working on?

Too early to think about basketball with the buzz surrounding the football team right now. When they start practice, I'll take note. Until then, get down to Nippert and cheer like crazy for the 'Cats.

The football team is a more than worthy distraction from the concerns surrounding the basketball team right now... players' development and Lance's eligibility... I agree... lets wait until late October to begin discussing basketball...

I would like to point out that you are, and posted, on the Basketball forum. Why check it if you don't want to hear about it until Oct.?

I think its a legit question. But I don't think many people really know. Why do we need to wait until the end of Oct to talk basketball? Practices start Oct 15 right? (or there abouts). That's only a month away. I'm curious if they are having a midnight madness or what they are planning to do to kick-off the basketball season.

No midnight madness this year.

My main question as I'm sure a lot of others is - Is Lance eligible? I know no news is good news but I would like a definitive statement. I know Globe Trotting Fan came on here and said we may hear something by the end of August but we are still waiting. I understand there may not be an official announcement so I don't need someone posting on that. If anyone who knows cares to confirm or deny if he is eligible then please respond.

I love both teams but I am curious how the players are progressing.

Absolutely but not bored enough to try and create a topic. We're all anxious for things to get going and for there to be some real news. That's why we all visit here. One of these days some kind of real news will break.
For the record, I didn't try to tell people to "stay away" until the season starts and I was just trying to give Jeff some friendly grief because I know he's anxious like me.

See the well documented explanation by DMoney... I LOVE UC Basketball like crazy... but right now it's football season and I'm devoting my time to that... one day soon news will break about another commitment or eligibility... but until then, I'm focusing on football!

Personally, I see nothing at all wrong with getting excited about basketball already. In fact, I for one am getting excited about the possibility of having a dominant basketball AND football team simultaneously. OMG it's gonna be mega freakin' awesome!!!!

Nobody ever said there was anything WRONG with getting excited for basketball... I'm incredibly excited about the prospects of this team... but, as has been rehashed about 5 times already in this thread, nothing of note is going to happen with basketball (most likely) in the next two months... so I'm not going to sit around coming up with scenarios and wondering whether or not Lance is eligible or Biggie is 100% healthy or Yancy has improved- yada yada yada...
UC football has a program shaping game coming up this week... I'm very thankful for that, because if the football program wasn't competitive, all we would have to do is sit around and wonder about those things on the basketball end...

Okay, maybe I didn't do a good job of conveying my point. The fact is YOU yourself did say that we shouldn't talk about basketball until October. Why the **** not? If that's the case, why is the "basketball" forum even open right now? We're just wasting cyberspace. My point is it's irritating for you or anyone else to try and tell people what they can discuss and when. This is still America, isn't it?
I'm suddenly reminded of why I avoided this message board for so long.

It's never to early or to late to talk UC basketball. I'm very excited about the upcoming season as well!
