I didn't see a topic but Larry Davis added new pictures to his facebook of what I assume to be the new jerseys

Looks about right. I figured we'd get some cat claws. Can't see the whole side of the shorts though. looks like there's something on them as well.

It seems shorts are getting longer and longer each year. Soon, all players will be playing with their pants on. :D

I liked the jerseys from last year. A lot of my friends from other schools were jealous of how they looked. I know most of the people on here hated them, but I thought they were solid.

New UC Bearcat logo escapes cage of secrecy
By Lori Kurtzman
Enquirer staff writer
news.enquirer.com

The new C-Paw was supposed to be a secret.
University of Cincinnati officials had guarded their revised athletic logo closely, requiring every licensed vendor to sign an agreement not to disclose the design until June 1. The university wasn't releasing it either, hoping to unveil its "bolder, stronger" symbol in late spring, just before UC's entry into the Big East Conference.

And then there it was.
At the grocery store.
Someone affiliated with the university spotted the new logo on a T-shirt at an area Kroger last week, said Carla Crabtree, UC's director of licensing.

The new Bearcat C-Paw - a more claw-like, italicized version of the old - had made an unexpected debut. UC officials started last week trying to track down and pull the shirts while seeking out the vendor and manufacturer responsible for the early release.

Crabtree said the university will reimburse Kroger for the T-shirts and has found "absolutely no fault" with the grocery chain. She said UC could potentially take action against the company that manufactured and sent out the shirts, but "until we get all the information ... we don't want to decide what we're going to do," she said.
"We want to do some investigation to make sure that it was an honest mistake and not somebody intentionally jumping the gun."

Steve Housh, owner of the Kansas-based distributor that acted as the middleman between Kroger and the T-shirt manufacturer, said about 150 shirts went out to 15 to 20 grocery stores.
Someone began circulating the logo via e-mail. Shaun Simpson, a 2000 graduate living in Columbus, got that e-mail and posted a note on a bearcatnews.com forum, offering to share it.

Several people took him up on the deal, Simpson said. Few liked what they saw. UC paid design firm LPK $35,000 to update the logo, which was adopted in 1990.
Tom Schultz, a 1996 graduate living in Mason, posted on the forum: "I'd like to chime in and say that it sucks. ... I'm thinking the design firm made the C-PAW into a font and then pressed Control+I to italicize it."

Some students at UC Monday were equally unimpressed.

"Their goal was to make it look more fierce for the Big East," said 19-year-old Stephen Myers. "But they didn't accomplish that," added Derek Sims, also 19.
The change, announced in November, wasn't meant to be drastic, said UC spokesman Greg Hand, but it was supposed to mark a transition for the Bearcats. The delay between the announcement and the unveiling of the logo was to give manufacturers enough time to create products with the new symbol, he said.

We've been quite clear that what's going to be presented is an evolution of the existing logo," Hand said. "
On Monday, most posters discussing the logo on the bearcatnews.com forum called it a "waste of money" and said the C-Paw's claws look more like apostrophes. But one, Brad Holdheide, defended it.

"I liked the new C-Paw," he wrote. "It looks more like a claw than the current C with some oval blobs on top."

Those unis look sweet. Its still hard accept Adidas personally but I understand why the University deals with them.

I'm not a big fan of the new uni's (based on the photos). I still think the Jordan brand uni's were the best in recent memory. Maybe they'll grow on me over time...

That's been my problem... when comparing any uni to the Jordan one's it's tough, because those were some of the best uniforms of all time... truly epic and a national staple...

Is he posing in the bathroom? It looks like a red stripe follows the shorts right up to the jersey. But a jersey does not make a player. I hope this team has some toughness.

Maybe its the addidas thing for me, or could be that the Jordan jersey was just sooo fresh, but im not really feeling these. Maybe the black ones will help get over it

I agree with some of you, that it's almost impossible to be elated after the old Jordan uni's. At the time, about every DII school and high school "borrowed" that the design shortly there after. I still have, and wear, my black shorts from back then. I think we were one of 3 teams to initially to wear those? I know St. Johns was one of the others. I will say that I think the team, the swagger and toughness, and the black on black made them perfect. I'm thinking another ranked team this year will let me enjoy the uni's more than the design itself. I like them more than last year's, cant wait to see the black ones.

Jordan-schmordan.

If the teams that wore the Jump Man brand sucked, we'd all think those jerseys were as good looking as the early 80's Astros uniforms.

The love affair with the Jump <an brand had everything to do with the guys wearing them....not who was making them.

These uniforms look very cool, IMO. While the Jordan/Jumpman design was cool back then, put them on today's players and they would look dated and out of place when compared to other teams' uniforms. I agree that the success the team enjoyed during those years has tainted your view of those uniforms.

UC, Cal, and St. John's were the originally 3. The North Carolina A&T was the fourth, then UNC...etc

Shaun - for the record, the new C-PAW logo has grown on me. I have many of the Adidas gear.

Adidas had to do something. The prior UC uni's looked too much like the Nike design.

That being said...count me among those that do not like the new look. Perhaps it will grow on me once I start associating the look with a winning team.

Wrong. You obviously know little about the Jordan brand.

You have a woody for a uni (which is honestly a little strange for an adult which I suppose you are, but I digress) because of what the teams that wore them did on the court. If Tulane was wearing them instead we would have been calling them the modern C-USA version of the Evansville softball jerseys.

They were nice looking. But don't get all worked up over nostalgia.

I don't care if they wear green t-shirts as long as they win...
