I've said before that I think S Fla is getting too much attention, but based on what appears to be a bigger win in week 2 than ours (Auburn vs Oregon St), I'm not sure we can be ahead of them.
I think youi've got Ohio St too high. They are either sandbagging heavily, or they're not the #11 team in the country.
Penn St? Hmmm. Not sure about that one. While the atmosphere was certainly electric, not sure the win over hapless Irish showed top 10 worthiness.
All in all, not bad. While I think we're going to have a great year, not sure I can put us in quite yet. I hope the ball bounces right for us as the season goes on. I think we need to end the season ranked this year in order to get pre-season attention we'll deserve for next year. Next year we should have a legit top 25 team, but if we can't squeak over the brutal Big East hump this year, we'll have to try to break into the top 25 from scratch next year. And that won't be easy with an early trip to Norman.

In my opinion, football polls which greatly impact which teams go to which bowls and which teams play for the national title, should not come out until after week 5. Preseason polls often times contain gross mistakes. This year's perfect example is Michigan.

I think Auburn ahead of South Florida is ludicrous.. South Florida just won in their house...and if they had made any field goals it would have been a solid win.
I think Tennessee is terrible... Not much confidence in them. I agree OSU is too high.

I don't think UC has done enough yet to be in the Top 25. They have really only played one team, and it was at home. Not saying they aren't good enough, but they'll have to prove it with a few more quality wins. With that being said, I agree with Keith that the polls don't mean anything until later in the year. Keep winning and everything will works itself out.

I think it would be travesty for Auburn to be ranked over USF. But, unfortunately, I won't be surprised if it happens. I also think it is too early to put UC in the top 25. Let's see how the Bearcats fare on the road. Going to Miami is not easy. UC has not won in Oxford since 1999.

As bad as I would like to see UC in the top 25 I think it is too early for them to be in the top 25 too although I do think they are knocking on the door and I would like to U S F be in the top 25 ahead of Auburn. Although I don’t think the pollsters will agree with me.

I think this team will be ranked at 5-0. There is no reason that the Bearcats should not beat Miami (OH), Marshall or Whale's Vagina State.
My top 25 is:
1 USC
2 LSU
3 Oklahoma
4 WVU
5 Florida
6 Wisconsin
7 California
8 Texas

You're correct that they contain gross mistakes, but after all, there are 12 weeks of football to correct them. Michigan may be a perfect example of a mistake, but they're no longer rated in the top 25 - so it's not exactly a mistake that will have any consequences.
I think a better solution (since the preseason polls aren't going anywhere) would be to encourage the voters to move teams around more, and not keep teams in the same spot simply because they win.

I agree. The AP can come out with one, but those that effect the selection of teams should not have prejudices that preseason rankings build in.
