It sounds like Mick doesnt have any real concerns about his eligibility.

I am waiting for the NCAA ruling before I get the least bit excited about Lance.

Exactly. I haven't really weighed in much on Lance becuase I'm waiting for the NCAA to finish up. I hope I'm wrong but we may never see this guy on the court.

No news is good news guys. From everything I have seen and read he has never received one penny for anything or compromised his student athlete status. I understand they have to look into it, but I'm very confident that when it is all said and done he will be playing.

I've never gotten a sensible explanation as to why people think this. It seems like it's something that just got repeated over and over again until people believed it to be true. Or is it just that UC fans just generally expect to get screwed on something like this?
I'm not at all in the know, but it seems the things people point to are the tour of the Under Armor factory, the web series, and the film.
The Under Armor thing might be a problem had he signed at Maryland. Their owner is a Maryland booster. Giving him a tour would be an extra benefit to induce Lance to sign there. But he didn't sign there. Why would this impact his eligibility? Do people think he made a deal with Under Armor while there or something?
The web series would be a problem if he got paid for it. Is there any reason to think he did? Just being in a tv/web series is not a problem. I recall a series several years ago about Chicago hoops with Sean Dockery, Eddie Curry, Will Bynum and others - it didn't effect their eligibility.
The movie, Gunnin for That Number 1 Spot, featured several other players that went on to college - Kevin Love, Kyle Singler, Donte Green, Michael Beasley. Why would it affect Lance and not them?
Am I missing something?

Nope, you pretty much summed it all up..............but i think we've never been on the right side of eligibility issues such as this.
Bearcat basketball fans have come to the point where we think more pessimistically when it comes to NCAA decision making when it involves UC.

I'm not being pessimistic about it. I'm just being cautious. I can't wait to see him play but I'm waiting until he plays to get excited.

Yes, the reasons for the NCAA investigation sound innocuous. However, in case you haven't noticed, UC doesn't the best track record w/ the NCAA when it comes to eligibility issues.

Has he passed his SAT? And get accepted into UC? If so, what is the concern? Why would he have to be cleared by the Clearinghouse? He hasn't tranfered of sat out for any reason, unless I missed something.

I keep hearing how dedicated he is to working on his game and I love it. It is sweet to have both major programs with so much expectation around them.

Every player in every NCAA sport has to submit a packet to the Clearinghouse for approval. Packets don't get turned in until after a player signs a LOI or scholarship papers.
Its first come first served. Lance got his in very late. So did Parker.

No news is definitely good news. Just my opinion, but I think he's 99.9% likely be able to suit up on time. From everything I have seen and read, it was mentioned a few post earlier, he's done nothing wrong. If Reik and Sidney got cleared for MSU then there shouldn't be a doubt that Lance does. I hope I'm right, I too hate UC's track record with the NCAA's rulings.

I am definitely excited about Lance... How could you not be... but my excitement at this moment in time will not even be close to the excitement I will have when he makes that first bucket as a University of Cincinnati Bearcat!!! Then I will be full of excitement and all giddy like a little school girl....
