AP: unofficial no. 34 (since they don't really rank to that) with 12 votes. Appalacian state is 33 with 19 votes.

Coaches: unofficial 41 with only 2 votes.

Really thought it would be better

Big East in the polls (AP, Coaches):
WVU 4, 4
Louisville 9, 9
Rutgers 13, 13
South Florida 26 (220 votes), 27 (115 votes)

Hey...we have to start somewhere. Back in 1991-92, it took quite awhile during UC's Final Four season before the Bearcats cracked the top 25. If the Bearcats keep winning, we'll keep moving on up!

In the Coaches Poll, Auburn got more votes than USF. At least the writer's got this right.

First football post ever.

I am shocked as well, look at how many votes Oregon State got last week (41 and 24), you'd think we should have done better than 12 and 2.

Also nice to see that SEC bias with 6 in the top 25 and 3 also getting votes, sure more than half your teams deserve to be in the top 25.

Did West Virginia sink down to #4? The last time I saw was its rank of #3 before last weekend's game. WVU crushed its rival Marshall by 25. Scratching on my head.

They may have appeared to crush Marshall, but Marshall hung around with them for almost 3 full quarters. If you want to be ranked at the top you need to dominate Conference USA teams, even if they are your rivals.

None of it matters though, as the rankings at this point are totally meaningless.

Exactly, qsilvr. The game was 27-23 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.
