Having been a follower of UC football for many many years I would suggest holding off on purchasing your Orange Bowl tickets until a few more games. Beating Miami in Oxford will be no easy task, the Redhawks want that bell back.

Miami had 577 yards of offense against Minnesota. Granted - Minnesota has no defense, but Miami threw for 417 yards against them.

Hopefully the team isn't looking past the next 3 games. I think BK will keep their heads in these games.

Jeez... after your statement about how UC was going to get smacked by Oregon State I figured you would be a little more encouraged about the team. I'm not saying they are going to win the Big East, but they should at least be competitive. For someone so pro-UC and Nancy you sure don't seem to be very pro-UC football.

Although there have been many instances of the Bearcats having a superior team only to lose in Oxford, the defensive dominance of this team gives me great comfort especially on the road. The only question I have is when will they surrender their first touchdown?

I'm getting real excited about the Miami game!!!
Last year I posted how I believed it was time for UC to start distancing itself from the MAC. They did it last year.
I expect them to completely control the game this coming Sat.
Yes it is a rivalry, but UC is that good and that better than Miami.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but our defense is very good. We have not allowed a touchdown yet this season. Yes, Miami had 577 yards in a 3 OT game, but they only had 296 against Ball State.
The QB position is a big question.
And, Miami gave up 577 yards to MN.
I expect the Cats to take care of business.
Let's go Cats!

I'm not sure why there would be questions about the quarterback. One of the bad snaps was his fault, but when he had time he made great throws and never made silly mistakes that resulted in a turnover. He took what a good defense gave him and with the Bearcats defense so strong thats exactly what he should do. As the OL improves, which it will, the offense will become more productive.

It is much easier to be upset when your offense is the key to your team. It appears that the defense is the key to this team. Teams that rely putting up a ton of point can be upset when bounces don't go their way (louisville and WVU looked volnerable at times).
I do not think that this team has 100% grasp of the offense, we have not seen 50% of the playbook yet and the O will only get better.

Well, if this prediction is as accurate as your last (OSU 31, UC 10), I'll be happy, because it means we are going to the Orange Bowl! WooHoo!!!
Yes, Miami threw for 417 yards, but BGSU threw for 412 the week before against Minny, so it is safe to say Minny's defense is pretty bad. BGSU was horrid a year ago and scored just 17 points against Michigan State last week, so I don't think we can take anyone's performance against the Minny defense too seriously.
I've been a follower of UC football for many years as well - I even have a picture of Watson Brown full of dart holes. Last year, for the first time, I really felt that there was a fundamental difference between UC and Miami. It wasn't simply that we had the better squad that day, but that (as DF noted) we had really begun to separate ourselves as a program.
UC and Miami are no longer operating in the same football universe. That doesn't mean they will never beat us again, but I do think it is going to become much more rare, and that they will need an unusually strong squad just to compete (which they certainly do not have this season).

Sorry for the confusion. Miami has a big question at QB. There starter has not performed well and one of his replacesments appeared to play better. Some folks at Miami are calling for the coach to start the replacement.
I think UC will be fine at QB on Sat. I even expect a big game!
Go Cats!

Kokal was pretty decent last year, but he has not been good in the 1st 2 games this season. Raudabaugh, the backup, actually started last year against UC. He was pretty bad - 190 yards on 47 attempts, leading his team to just 3 points of offense (and that on a drive that started at the UC 22 and lost 10 yards).
I'm not too concerned about either one.

I say all the fun of being a fan is getting excited about the team.
13-0 baby. Blowout of Ohio State in the title game :)

Aren't you the same guy that predicted that Oregon State would blow UC out? You really don't have any credibility.

..... please leave the predicting to professionals:), such as myself!
Your OSU-UC prediction destroyed your credibility.
Orange Bowl, no way, but as I predicted in July, look for UC heading to the Gator Bowl.
