I am contemplating making the trip down from Columbus and didn't know how many are going and the best way to get tickets.

We've got 5 + coming up from Cincy. Just called 556-CATS about a week ago and they still had some tix.

If you buy them from UC you'll get stuck in the visitor's section.
$20 a piece plus $3 service fee.
I got mine in the mail Saturday. Bring enough supplies to tailgate twice because you can't leave the Miami area until all the traffic lets out. It's the worst bottleneck in traffic engineering history.

Well that is one way to look at it but then you have to sit next to Miami person! Buy them from UC and pack the section!
If you don't like the view you could always move. Most Miami fans leave at half.

You might be able to get some through the alumni association as well, they are taking busses up you might try them and the ticket office. 513-556-4344

I'll be there... I gotta call and ask a Miami student if they get a discount on tickets for guests...
I didn't miss a game last year until the cats traveled to wVU... i won't be able to have that streak this year with a game at SD State...still looking into going to Rutgers though

Just looked at the attendence numbers and we should all be able to get seats there. Out of 119 teams last year Miami (OH) finished 110.

What section is the away(bearcats) team section?

What exactly are the attendance numbers? And does anyone know what Yager's capacity is?
I'll be sitting on the home side with the girlfriend and her dad, but i'll still be in black & red! And I hope I see a good number of people in black sitting around me!

The seating capacity is a little over 24k, hopefully there is at least over 20k for this game, hopefully with mostly Bearcat fans in Black!

Miami is trying to do a white out so the black is nice. They average 15k a game, but I imagine they will get a few more there for this one (many from UC). Doubt it will be mostly Bearcat fans, but 25% would be great in a visitors stadium.

I know it won't be mostly Bearcat fans, I just like to say that stuff to get the Cryami fans all worked up. How many Bearcat fans are expected to make the trip up?

I am hoping for 5,000, but that seems like a lot to me. Assuming the Miami will get 15,000 (their average - visitor fans + added Miami fans due to it being UC) if UC can get 5,000 then that would be great. With 25% it will seem like it is 50-50 cheering since it is surprising to hear the visiting team get the crowd.

Not sure if this has been addressed yet or not, but any suggestions for lots, etc. for pre/post game tailgating. Our group is planning on being in oxford by 9:30 or so and would love to be able to eat/drink with other Cat fans (in black of course).

Just called the ticket office and got seats for 8 of us together. Either the UC section is not sold out (or not close since we have 8 together) or we are able to buy tickets in the Miami sections through UC's ticket office.

Miami's stadium should at least look a bit more full with 16 high school bands in attendance for their annual "band day" festivities, and then consider all of the parents who wouldn't normally attend in order to see their HS students perform...
I'm heading up on the buses for the alumni trip, and just got word that we are taking 5 full buses - hopefully that should make for a great block of support. We should be arriving in Oxford around 10 to begin our tailgating festivities!

I believe some students are headed up on those buses as well, however I know at least one sorority is making this a "sisterhood' event and going separately on their own chartered bus and having a joint tailgate with their counterpart at Miami with actives and alum. They have "block" sections for the members during the game, I think there are a few Greek organizations that are doing things similar to this, so there should be quite a few student Bearcat fans there, just not in the section. The more noise from all around the stadium the better :)
Confirmed that I WON'T be there... pregnant wife says she can't handle it. At 30 weeks pregnant I can't blame her. I'll be watching on TV and listening on the radio...
Bearcats by 18.
