I am very reluctant to name the prospect, but a very important visitor was at UC on Saturday and being hosted by Coach Cronin and his assistants. The prospect brought his family and looked very comfortable with Mick. There is tremendous competition for this prospect but it is a good sign that we are in contention with the other schools that are pitching this kid.

Questions: Was he at the game? What class is he? How tall, what postion is he? Isn't there a rule about "teasing" other members. Spill the beans or give some clues! :)

What's the harm in naming him? If Mick had him on campus, then there's serious interest on both sides. You don't have to name your source.
If, ultimately, he chooses to go elsewhere, that doesn't diminish the importance of his recruitment, given that he's really a prized player.

don't we all know that it was Teague this past Saturday, it was mentioned a lot in other posts. Or is it someone else?

i posted this on another board. Apparently Darryl Hicks, freshman PG from North Oldham, was on campus this past weekend.
The state's top sleeper is North Oldham freshman Darryl Hicks, who is making an unofficial visit this weekend to the University of Cincinnati.

Hicks and Teague were the only visitors this weekend. I have not seen any information to suggest otherwise. I provided cites in the 2011 and beyond thread.

I would love to get Hicks to UC. I watched him at Take 5 and felt that kid had hardly any weak areas in his game. Usually a kid his age that can dominate a game like he does has a ton of problems, but is physically more mature than everyone else on the floor. I didn't see that with him. He was just a very skilled player for someone entering their freshman year.

OP is prob referring to Hicks.

op was not referring to hicks.
It's been confirmed by others in other threads that he was here, so it's no secret, it was Teague. Op just didn't want to mess with the process if this was meant to be a super-secret visit or something.

He's referring to Teague and I'll be shocked if he ends up at UC.

It was Teague and Hicks.
Those were the only two here. Hicks is a big time player but is for 2013 so it may be to early to get excited about him.
Teague has been on campus quite a few times over the last couple of years but this was an official visit.

I don't understand why people make statements like this. From the amount of time this kid has spent on campus there is obviously a very high level of interest here. He also has developed relationships with the current players thru these visits. I'm not saying he will be a Bearcat. I'm just saying it isn't that far fetched. He really likes this coaching staff and has said publicly that comfort is a big thing for him. He said his parents, fans and coaches won't be the ones attending the school he chooses. He will and he wants to go where he thinks it's the best overall fit. It is apparent that Cincinnati is one of the few schools left that he likes very much.

Agree with you Jeff. If he were not intersted in us he would not have spent the weekend here. Like I said earlier he has been on campus before so he knows what we have to offer already. We have as good of a shot as anybody. I just think (no sources or anything just a feeling) that he ends up at Louisville. Hope i am wrong.

Since it apparently was mentioned on recruiting sites that Teague was visiting this weekend, I can confirm that it was Teague. As noted previously, Teague and his family seemed very comfortable with Mick. Mick told me that he (Cronin) was at the football game, so I assume Teague was there as well with Cronin, probably in the Press Box.

They may well be the leader, though Teague has said to assume that is wrong. All I'm saying is U.C. is in the mix. North Carolina has entered the picture. There are some big dogs to compete against. He keeps coming around for a reason. The Bearcats must be on his mind.

I don't believe so, recruits can't be on official visits until their Senior Year. I thought Teague was a 2011 recruit?

Only if Louisville changes their nickname from Cardinals to Bearcats.

Do not count the Bearcats out.
Recruiting can be a dynamic, changing process, and the fact that Marquis hasn't committed yet should be a clue that registers with even 10 watt posters.

Yeah, with Teague and Bledsoe, UC will be NC. Oops, a past Ralph posting. :)
I hope you are right with this one Ralph.
