The schedule posted at gobearcats.com includes no exhibition games. I guess that means that Mick opted for two scrimmages to be held behind closed doors. Does anyone know what D1 schools the Cats will match up with?

That's good for season ticket holders. I hate paying for games that don't even count.

They have not had exhibition games for years I believe. That ended when they could not longer play against traveling teams such as athletes in action. I could be wrong but I believe that all games have counted for several years now.

That's correct. In 2007, they played NKU and Ottawa. In 2008, they played NKU and Carleton. Carleton went on to win the Canadian national title last season.

Rumor has it that a fight broke our in stands and the only one left on the court were five deaf and blind guys on the bench from Carleton so they won by default. Just sayin.
Brings me to this:
An American, a Scot and a Canuk were in a terrible car accident. They were all brought to the same emergency room, but all three of them died before they arrived. Just as they were about to put the toe tag on the American, he stirred and opened his eyes. Astonished, the doctors and nurses present asked him what happened.
"Well," said the American, "I remember the crash, and then there was a beautiful light, and then the Canadian and the Scot and I were standing at the gates of heaven. St. Peter approached us and said that we were all too young to die, and that for a donation of $100, we could return to the earth."
He continued, " So of course, I pulled out my wallet and gave him the $100, and the next thing I knew I was back here."
"That's amazing!" said one of the doctors, "But what happened to the other two?"
"Last I saw them," replied the American, "the Scot was haggling over the price and the Canadian was waiting for the government to pay for his."

Unfortunately, all it really means is that the Cats beat the equivalent of a really good D2 squad. Carleton was decent, but this year's UC team would get nothing out of playing them.
It would be interesting to know the scrimmage opponents. I'm sure they'd be regional D1 teams not already on our schedule (IU? UD? WSU? tO$U?).

i hope cronin is not willing to play the suckeyes in a scrimmage. after the act they pulled for 45 years, then agreeing to play when uc was at rock bottom in the wooden classic, and then to scoff at the thought of playing again.
unacceptable to play those tools in anything but a home and home.

^ Playing the Buckeyes in a scrimmage would do a lot more for this team than playing NKU or Carleton.

This is incorrect information as there will be two (2) exhibition games this year, just as in past years. Tickets for these games are deeply discounted at only $10 for lower level tickets and $5 for upper level tickets. There are also different price levels for non-BIG EAST games and for conference games.
The exhibition games are set for November 5 v. Bluefield College and November 12 vs. Bellarmine.

Thanks. I see that these games have been added to the schedule in the web site. They weren't there yesterday.

I enjoy your posts and that was damn funny but probably not the place. No offense, but I would think if any talk of Huggs, AK, Reik, etc. isn't relevant to this site then a joke about health care isn't either. I know I sound like Debbie Downer. This is more directed at whomever removed certain prior harmless posts. I'll stop complaining, Go Cats!
