Do not get complacent! Forget the big win over Oregon State. Go to Oxford 100% focused on beating a team you KNOW that you can beat.
The QB situation at Miami is a bit unsettled. Bring pressure on the QB and force him to make throws before he wants to. That should lead to some interception opportunities for the Bearcat ball-hawking DBs.
Get the offense back in gear. Oregon State for the most part was able to contain UC's new spread attack by bringing pressure from their D-line. I don't think Miami's D-line is nearly as good as Oregon State so Ben Mauk should have time to make sound decisions when passing the ball. UC should also be able to move the ball on the ground. I think the goal for the UC offense this Saturday should be score at least 4 TDs.
Win the turnover battle and convert Miami turnovers into points.

If the Bearcats come out fired up and ready to play, I think UC wins by at least two TDs.

If the O scores 4 TD's we'll win by more than 3 TD's......

One game at a time. These kids know the importance of the biggest and oldest rivalry better than BK. They will not be complacent. They will not look past this team and get surprised early and out of game plan. UC will stay focused and dictate the game pace.

Get the offense INTO gear. Maybe the O-line needs to give Mauck a little more time, but think this offense is a sleeping GIANT and I'd hate for a Pearl Harbor (see point one) be needed to wake them up.

Forget winning the turnover battle, I am happy to not have any turnovers by our offense. This is one area where Maucks is head and shoulders beyond Grutza. I'd like to see our defense befuddle and confuse, whle knocking some players around (no injuries just tough football) and force a few, but I am happier with the zero turnover stat on offense.

I think UC CAN win by 5-6 TD's. I don't see their defense stopping the spread, and I don't see their offense pushing past the 35 yard line (THEIR 35!).

I predict though a more reasonable 41-17 UC victory!

R-n-B:

I certainly hope you are right. The Miami game will be a very good sign for us. It will show us if the Bearcats can refocus themselves and play good football after a big win. It will also show us how well UC copes on the road. This will be Coach Kelly's first true road game as Bearcat head coach.

On paper, I think UC is much better and should win comfortably. But, we all know that you don't win games on paper.

My key to the game? Get Pike and the second stringers plenty of snaps in the second half when UC is up about 31-6.
