Could UC's very own Dan Hoard replace George Grande and call some Reds games.
I would be very very pleased if the Reds chose to go that way, or FSN or whoever makes that call.

I just hope we don't lose him from doing the bearcats games. He's a great announcer &
has been a big fan of UC. Hopefully, he can do both jobs & he will do them at the highest
level.
I was sad to hear the G Grande was leaving, he was always
professional & called a great game. Best of luck to him in the
future.

With as much rotating around the Reds did this year both on TV and the radio I doubt that they would not accomodate Hoard for the Bearcats games.
I hope he gets it!

I agree, they have so many announcers now that finding a "day off" on Saturdays from Mr. Hoard should not be that big of a chore.

This would make having the sound on for Reds games possible again

Would be a great move up for a great guy but as much as I enjoy the UC broadcasts, I'd be pretty sad about it.

Really, it's probably a matter of 5 dates (out of 140) that would conflict with UC Football -- that's something you can contract about.
If not, I'd be sad to see Dan go, but recognize this is probably a much better gig for him. There are lots of other good broadcasters in the market, though. I'm sure UC could find someone first-rate to handle things.

So in the first week of April, would Dan choose to broadcast Opening Day or the Bearcats in the national championship game of the NCAA tourney???

Maybe BK and KC could fly him from Opening Day to the NC game via the black helicopter.
Seriously though, it would be great to get Hoard to be a full time Cincinnatian. I'm sure a local news station could find a place for his wife.

Yes it is so important that while I am watching a game someone describes it to me better that George Grande. Here is to having someone scream "Back Back Back Back Back Back.......

Agreed with the above....Dan is certainly well deserving, and it couldn't go to a nicer guy. Anyone have an idea who we could e-mail/contact to throw his support their way?

Correct me if I am wrong here guys, but Hoard is currently announcing for the Pawsox Radio Network for Pawtucket Red Sox. If they can make it work with him being in RI then I am sure they can make it work with both teams in Cincinnati.

You're correct, but I think Jim Kelch is a better choice for the Reds.

Out with one homer, in with another. Not a big fan of it.

Good God if Kelch is hired I will be sure to keep the sound off and turn on the radio. Not a fan. Give me Hoard!

I like them all. I really like Kelch and the fact he knows the players. I am all for Dan Hoard as well as he does a good job as any in preparing for a broadcast.
Either way people will find a way to complain. Most important thing is firing Jim Day. Jim Day is proof talent, looks, and brains don't matter.
