It seems like there are a lot of player arrests happening around the country right now. Nice not to see UC attached to any of them. Let's hope it stays that way.

Been since May of 2005 when Roy Bright went all dim. When was the last time we could say UC went that long without a player in the police blotter? Since the first term of the Reagan presidency?
Knock on wood.

Dude.
That is *not* a nice way to title a thread. You trying to give us heart attacks?

Agree.
I added "non-Cincinnati" to the thread title.

You forgot Ryan Patzwald's DUI that fall and I forget when Erik Murray's probation violation was. Patz was early November of 2005. We are coming up on 2 years (knock on wood) without a Bearcat Basketball arrest.

I bet it counted to Mr. and Mrs. Patzwald.

Yea, it had been around 2 years without any UC bball players incidents. This is good. It does not mean that it is because of Huggins being gone. So far, both Kansas State and West Virginia bball teams had been incident-free since Huggins took over both jobs. Maybe I missed something else.
Who knows when any incidents by UC bball players will happen again? I think it will happen again anytime.
I am looking forward to the new better UC basketball season.
Go Bearcats!

They disowned him when he cut his hair to look like Wendy O'Williams.:D

Badger and Catlett both had players with off-the-court issues back then.
You have to go back to Richard Nixon (Tay Baker) years.

Shame what happened to Bright, he could've been a good player.

He still can be. No problems at Delaware. Should get a chance to play pro (though not NBA).

I saw where B.J. Grove (now 26) was in trouble with the law and arrested for crack. Very unfortunate.

Bright had a very good year - but a very bad tournament game if I remember correctly. He declared for the draft, but didn't get too much interest so he took his name out. I would watch for their team to make the NCAA tournament this year.

Grove was Cronin's first recruit at UC. He coached him at Woodward HS.
I knew the young man in grade school. He was my nephew's teammate on a summer league team (in 1993). Back then, he (Grove) was skinny, quiet, and polite.
