For years we have argued and discussed and beaten the dead horse over how to get more people into Nippert. Guess what? I really was winning consistently after all. I haven't seen a crowd that big since Miami FL in 86.

Winning + a coach that generates hype + UC doing a great job building on the hype. These are fun times for the program!

Yes, it was good. I could see a lot of them on TV (ESPN GamePlan). One thing that somewhat bothers me is a lot of them leaving the game early. Why? Has the Oktoberfest event something to do with them leaving the game early?

We've been "unfortunate" enough to be whipping our opponents. Although I typically stick around, I kind of understand people hitting the road (especially closing in on 11:00pm) when we're up 30.

I can't speak for others, although I am among those that are attempting to bring up a new generation of Bearcats fans. In other words, I had my 7 year old and my 4 year old with me.
The pace of the game was rather slow. 2 hours to finish a half...
I ended up leaving early esentially due to the lack of attention span for my kids. Left on my own, I am the type to stay until the end - even during a blow out (winning or losing). However due to the increase attendance, there isn't really anywhere for the kids to "stretch their legs" and move around.
Don't get me wrong... I loved seeing the sell-out. For me, however, I ended up watching the end of the game on TV.

You're not alone 1984. The night games are definitely the way to go for the whole of the fan base. Heck we should be like LSU, with ALL our homes games at night! However, while my 2 year old was a trooper, my 10 month old turned into a pumpkin, and we left at half. It wont stop us from going, and in a few years they might even make it through a night game or two!

Using a guest ticket (purchased by a friend still in school), I sat in upper part of the end zone student section and it was great. One of the best crowds I've experienced at Nippert, except I do think the Rutgers game last year and the Southern Miss game (in 2000 - won by a last second field goal by Ruffin) were better. I definitely expect the atmosphere for Big East games to be AWESOME and unlike anything we've seen before.
