Almost overlooked in all the discussion of Lance's 2nd scrimmage is Yancy's performance.

I think that this year he will become a dominating presence for UC. I predict that by the end of the year we'll be worried about two players going to the NBA.

I missed last night, but agree with your last two sentences. As far as last night, I saw Cash had 7 assists, but did he take care of the ball - anyone know how many TO's he had?

He has me as excited as anyone on the roster. I know he's supposed to be able to shoot, but I could care less if he can; If he can keep a great assist to TO ratio and make his free throws this team could really go somewhere.

He needs to be stronger with the ball down low in traffic, but the title of this thread is very true.

i agree with you. i am hoping that if yancy has a good season this year, he does not bolt. i think he can be a solid nba player if stays for three seasons. perfect a nice 15-18 foot jump shot and learn a little bit of handle.

i know he matched up well with a lot of the big east big's last year. cant wait to see him and greg monroe get at it this year.

He has as much upside as anyone in the NCAA. One thing I noticed last night is he needs to work on catching passes and then going to the hoop. He dropped a few that he should have had. Other than that he was great and one of my favorite players. It was GREAT to see him hit all his free throws because i expect him to be on the line a lot this year

Yes, Yancy was definitely the best player on the court last night.

For anyone who wasn't there last night...Yancy is noticeably bigger. It's scary.

My thoughts exactly. Having a big man down low who likes to power it to the hoop and can convert from the line is huge, particularly in tight contests. Obviously he won't be shooting 100% from the line, but if he's in the 80% range, then that will be a huge weapon for us later in the season. Teams will have to respect it.

He won't be anywhere near 80%

I'd be overjoyed if he is even 70%
