Joined UCATS Today!

Well, I finally put my money where my mouth was. It feels great to now be fully invested in the success of the Bearcats going forward in the Big East :D

And yes I was one of the ones who signed a petition to renew Huggs contract a few years ago when that whole mess happened.

I just joined today too. Overall, I like the direction for UC athletics (especially football) and I want to support them.

That whole mess worked out fine for him - he showed his ability at BCS level by taking 15-13 K-St team to 23-12 (with largely the same players) then he got a chance to go home (West Virginia) after all.

This is going to sound harsh but at this point, I really do not care what Coach Huggins does anymore. I will always cherish his success at UC but that is in the past. He is now the enemy and I want the Bearcats to crush him and his team every chance they get. And I will NOT be pulling for WVU when they are not playing UC. I know some will disagree with me on this (some vehemently) but I think how he left KSU for WVU was wrong. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it. You are certainly free to have your own opinion in this regard and I respect that (even though I may not agree with it).

I am a Bearcat fan and I will support them emotionally and financially. Have mistakes been made? Certainly. But to forgive is divine and I really do like where the athletics department is heading now.

First of all, I am the big Huggins supporter. I agree everything got messed up a few years ago, but we have to move on with the new direction of the UC basketball program. Hopefully, Mick is the man who can fix it and continue the rich UC bball tradition.

Anyway, I'd like to know where can we find info of UCATS? At the ucbearcats.com website or what?

I agree about his leaving K-St after a year. I disagree about him being the enemy. But my point was that the turmoil of 2005 wound up OK (in the end) for HIM.

He coaches a rival in-conference school. Anyone who feels warm and fuzzy about a conference rival is clueless. I rooted against WVU every game last year. Don't see how that changes now.

Long time follower of this site (5+ years reading almost everything), first time poster. I too have just recently given my first donation to join UCATS. I had season B-ball tickets thru most of the 90's until the UCATS requirement was going to cause my cost to be too high for my financial position, plus as members of the group were getting married and kids, it was more difficult for some to go. However, I am impressed (after a year or two of concern) as to how the athletic department is being run... from the good coaching hires, seemingly higher commitment to success, commitment to improving facilities, better media relations, etc. I am excited as to where this sports program, and even the University as a whole, looks to be going. So although I cant make the commitment to attend all the games and become a season ticket holder at this time (young children), I did want to show my support by joining UCATS. Go Cats! Steve
