View Full Version : Will Lance be a chucker or a playmaker?

In the first two exhibition games, Lance Stephenson has taken mostly outside shots, although he had two nice drives and finishes in Game 2.
He has only attempted two free throws.
He has only a few assists.
For this offense to thrive, Lance, in my opinion, will need to average around four assists and eight free throw attempts per game.
Will he enhance or hinder the Bearcat attack?

For now, he is not ready for NBA. It means he could be staying at UC for a couple of years or so.

whether he is ready or not has no bearing on what he decides to do. If he wants to go, he will go. It was only one game.

Come on guys, the guy has played 1 (one) regular season game. Take out your frustrations on the rest of the squad that has been around for awhile.

Lance is FINE, he is a freshman in his first game.
Lance will be a big timer this year, why? Because LivingLegend says so. I have never been wrong. Fact.

When lance started to drive the team played better He was the first to take it to the rim all night. i still think that the Gates dunk was a pass and not a shot off of the backboard.

Lance had several good drives and dishes. Got some people some open looks. People who are worrying about lance shouldnt be. Lets worry about some real issues with this team.

Holy crap, it's like the team has played the non conference schedule and we are getting ready for the BEAST. Not one team I can ever remember showed improvement throughout the season, and there is no way this one can improve enough to make the NCAA tournament right Take a breath, exhale, now say "one game", 1, uno, single, solitary game. Chilax, call me after Maui if you are still upset about the same things. Lance played in his first college games and by Mick's account, showed some butterflies and things he had never seen in practice (hitting the backboard on a three). Cash is new too (to a regular game) and this team has new faces to get used to. Sure I miss the old days of a 40 point double up our opponent win, but those will come. Lets play more than one game before we start looking for the sky to fall.

Lance has made plenty of nice passes that our players haven't finished...the first play of the game tonight he made a ridiculous pass to Yancy and he missed the dunk...drives and dishes to open shooters who weren't hitting their shots. No reason to worry. Would like to see him take it to the hole more often though.

I thought the exact same thing.

It's not as if in the old days this program didn't have some hiccups against inferior competition. It did. I remember losing in our own Bearcat Classic. You are not going to blow everybody out and your effort is not always going to be great. Mick did a helluva job sitting Vaughn to start the second half. That sent a message and things turned around. Davis and Lance were driving and that opened the outside up. One game has been played and everything is correctable. This isn't college football where style matters. They just need to win and improve.
