In post game Mick said Biggie didn't play becaue of matchups. How does a dude 5 inches taller than everyone of their players not matchup? How bout letting another team try to match up with the Bearcats? Why is Mick not allowed to dictate the style of play?
While Biggie has struggled greatly since joining the team, everyone says he has improved quite a bit. The fact he can't get 1 minute vs Prairie view doesn't make sense to me. Especially when they had post players dunking on us and others driving to the basket.

Mick said that the game was to up and down for Biggie. Biggie will play when the team they play has center. Biggie is to slow to play against a team that runs like the team lastnight.

Its the same thing every year. Biggie is not fast enough to play with small teams, and to soft to play with the big boys. He has no perfect fit.
People who said biggie has improved, i simply don't buy. GreatOne said he will be a factor this year, cmon that's not happening. Biggie will continue to be the same player he has been.

UC NEEDS Biggie to do something this year. They are VERY thin inside. Toyloy CANNOT shoot and Yancy disappears. If Thomas can't bang, they have 2 big guys they can play down low. Might be rough on Yancy to be the focal point inside if he is struggling

........as was Yancy, Toyloy, and a host of others!

biggie is tall - that's about it right now. with that, he plays smaller than he is. he has a tendancy to bring the ball down too low, can't really move well, and still isn't very tough. i'm not ripping the young man - i just have never really undertood what some have seen in him that indicates him having nba potential.

Our defense was terrible last night because our guards couldn't stay in front of their man. So many times I saw Wright just running back and forth overplaying the ball and letting his man by him.

I have to agree we needed to change the tempo to our favor last night. They should have been able to use him. Slow it down throw it in the post and work from the inside out. How about quit chucking threes and pass the ball more than once. They would have rolled that team if they would have shown a little patience.

It's nice to see some posters being realistic about Biggies skill level and potential. I have been so sick of the idiots on this board who have for the last 2+ years talked about how biggie will improve and be a force down low. I HOPE he does well but realistically, he couldn't play in the A10 conference.

I know they are redshirting Kilpatrick...any chance they redshirt Biggie too?

Not according to Mick's postgame comments. He said Biggie will see action against Toledo.

Have you seen him play? I match up against him.
He is the biggest dissapointment since Ronald Allen.

Someone on the staff needs to do a better job of developing the big men. I haven't seen a single UC big man improve during the past 4 years.

i don't disagree with your statement b/c there certainly seems to be room for improvement there - but in defense of the staff, they haven't had one for more than two full seasons (biggie) and he is a gamble/project.

We brought in a high school coach to do that>>>George Jackson.
Last night was sickening for the most part. Biggie isn't going to improve sitting on the bench. Does he deserve to play 30 minutes--NO! Could he have played 4-5 minutes last night-YES! Matchups is a bunch a bull if you play a kid 4-5 minutes. As poorly as the team played, what the **** difference would it have made? I trust the team will get better--God I hope so!

Jackson worked for Orr at Seton Hall for a few years. It didn't account for much. He has an in with the local HS coaches here or did have. There is a guy broadcasting on the radio who had some sucess with big guys - blount, max,Kmart, little, long, brannen and that banger named Fortson. Maybe he could lend a hand again. Unofficially though.

It was considered, but opted not to due to thomas not being eligible for the first part of the season.

Why was Biggie even recruited if he's not going to play?

How exactly was Ronald Allen a disappointment? He was a transfer from a D3 school to fill the roster. I expected nothing from him.

If everyone seen the game, #33, drove past steve and yancy all game, so it may be good he didn't get exposed to that

Biggie is terrible. I'm not sure why people want him to play. I watched him in two preseason games look uncoordinated and out muscled. Not to mention the fact that he would run up and down the court once and be gased. Those games were against DII competition.
I will continue to say it, Biggie is perhaps the worst scholarshipped player UC has had in the last 15-20 years. He belongs in the MAC.

Biggie is a player on OUR team. If you can't prove that statement don't say it. You're entitled to your opinion but please be factual. This is a kid that UConn recruited. Jim Calhoun is not a dummy as much as I don't like him.

If Biggie was good, he would play and UC would dictate to the other team. Let's face it though, against some teams, he's a liability.
