Being at the first three games, I thought the effort/energy of Jaquon Parker has been tremendous. Though I don't think I have seen him attempt a shot, he has been strong with the ball, and hounding on defense. I am curious to find out more of his game. Is he much of an offensive threat? How will the time be split between he and Cash? Cashmere's effort has been there, but being off the court for a year, it will take him a few games to find his rhythm. The way Jaquon handles the ball, he does not look like a true freshman. Thoughts?

Reputation of a slasher and athletic point guard out of high school. His shot is a work-in-progress. His shooting form needs to be retooled, but he is physically ready for the BigEast.

Parker's willingness to play selfless basketball and solid defense will continue to earn him minutes all season.

The high school videos of Parker almost always showed him going to the glass. I can not remember one long jumper. He is a hustler and he brings attitude with him. He will become a vocal leader on this team in the next year or so.

Watching him in pre-game impresses me. Seems to have a great attitude and exudes a lot of confidence. I love watching him in the games, especially on defense. He is bent over, slapping the court, clapping his hands, just challenging the offensive player to try to score on him. He seems to love playing defense. I haven't seen him do a single thing offensively yet which has me a little concerned (don't want to revisit the point guards of Bearcat past...i.e. Legree, Horton, etc...who were all defense and no offense). But, my first impression of him is very good and hopefully he'll develop an offensive game and become a well-rounded point guard. I think he is a winner!

Like longtimer said I especially like watching how he challenges the other player on defense. Not only does that get him pumped up I think it can take the other team out of their offense because we all know that basketball players love to one up each other. By Challenging the other teams PG I think Parker will force a lot of bad shots and get some steals.

Agreed. Parker has been a pleasant suprise. Anything he chips in offensively is a bonus as a Frosh.

When i was down at practice the other day Parker was giving the best effort by far! Rarely did Cronin harp on him. I can't say the same for the other guys...

Hopefully Parker can be a spark for the team.
