It is rare that my "vibes" are not more solid. But here it goes anyway.

UC: 24
SDSU: 21

This is going to be a tough game, and frankly, I think they will be much tougher than anybody is expecting. We can't blow it here by looking forward to the game with Rutgers.

Man, I was hoping for something more solid from you because I have been having bad feelings about this one myself.

This is a team thought to be in the bottom 20 in college football. I really hope we beat them by more than 3. 38-13.

Because of the 2000-mile road trip, I don't think UC will win by at least 2 TDs, but maybe 1 TD. Here's my prediction:

UC 29
SDSU 24

Okay, I'm feeling strangely nervous about this game, and I don't know why.

SDSU's opponents have completed 73.8%(!!!!) of their passes, for 375 yards per game. Toss in over 150 yards per game on the ground, and it adds up to one bad defense.

They were destroyed by a so-so Washington State team and a good Arizona State team. The ASU defense, which gave up 32 points in a win over Oregon State, didn't have too much trouble with SDSU's offense.

Even Portland State, the miserable team that SDSU defeated last week, threw for 445 yards and hit on 69% of their throws. That is a really bad pass defense, folks.

I think we are better than Arizona State, and I am certain we are better than Washington State. SDSU is probably the worst defensive team we will face all year, at least among the 1-A opponents. I understand why Mauk wants to play so badly - he could throw for 300 yards in a half against these guys if he is healthy.

And yet, I still have a queasy feeling about this one.

The heck with queasy feelings - UC 48, SDSU 24.

SDSU hasn't held anyone under 450 yards yet this season, so if the Bearcats don't rack up some pretty serious offensive sumbers, there is a real problem.

I think the offense will keep clicking while the defense continues to dominate. I expect the defense to score a TD. I also expect a special team play that will lead to an easy score.

UC 44
SDSU 10

So you're pretty much predicting an exact duplicate of the last 4 games.

Their defense is that bad, ours is that good. As long as the west coast effect does not enter in the score should be close to
