Perhaps in the 1st couple of weeks, we overrated the league...it seems now that Louisville is not a top ten team, that Pittsburgh stinks, Rutgers was overrated and that Oregon State team the Bearcats pummeled is no great shakes.
Not to diminish what the Cats have done (and S. Fla)..but I don't think you can put this league up with the SEC/Big Ten just yet...time will tell

Oh, and Miami of Ohio beat Syracuse
The B10 is not a good league this year either. Every league has had big upsets this year. No conference has been immune.
Honestly, if you want to discuss the B10 lets look at their teams.
Ohio State - what can you say, seemm to reload every year
Michigan - App State, Oregon, enough said
Penn State - lost 2 in a row now, Michigan and Illinois
Wisconsin - has not looked good yet, but seems to keep winning
Michigan State - has not beaten anybody any good, almost lost at home to a terrible Pitt team
Purdue - surprise team, has looked great on offense thus far. Let ND back in the game today though on their home field
Minnesota - almost lost to Miami - Ohio, did lose to FAU and BGSU
Indiana - have looked decent, nothing top notch, however
Illinois - same as Indiana, beat Penn State, lost to Missouri - could be surprise team to contend for B10 title
Northwestern - Lost to Duke, enough said
Iowa - pathetic team, absolutely terrible
I honestly don't see how you can say that the BE isn't as good as the B10 this year.

Arizona is ranked above us @ 23...but look at common opponents:
1) Oregon State...they beat them @ home by 14...we beat them at home by 31
2) SDSU...they beat them @ home by 21...we are beating them away by 25 @ the half

Good points - the B10 doesn't look so hot either - although based on comparative scores, USC sqeaked by the same Washington team that OSU smoked (although Wash had many opportunities to make that a much closer game and blew it)
Outside of OSU I'm not sure anybody in the B10 is any good. Wisconsin is still undefeated, but I still don't know how good they are. They could go out and do what OSU did in 2002 with a ton of close games but never losing, or they could fall apart when they play the better teams of the B10.

You mean the same Big Ten that had their top team lose to a Division I-AA team? The Big East is every bit as good as the Big Ten. Going by comparative scores don't work though. Ohio State was losing to Akron and then finally pulled away late. Connecticut smoked that same Akron squad.

Could Rutgers have been looking ahead??? I think this UC game means a ton to them. They have been waiting.
I still think WVU is a top 5 team, they just had a sloppy night, and an excellent South Florida defense took advantage.
As for South Florida, they have some very good wins already. They won at Auburn, beat UNC, and beat a dynamite WVU team. That Auburn team because the first group to beat Urban Meyer in the swamp.
Oklahoma lost to Colorado, Florida lost to Auburn, Texas got smoked by Kstate. Not sure how we can knock the big east for a few slip ups

I'm not buying the Big East being overhyped. I think S. Florida showed what team speed can do to another high ranked team that relies on speed.
As far as Rutgers, I think they are very beatable, and probably overranked to begin with. They are a good team, but not top 10 IMO. I think we win and edge into top 20 status.

I actually think ,and someone will get on my case for this, That we are overrated at #20. We have not played anyone in all reality. A victory over a Pac 10 team is nice but they're a bad PAC 10 team as it turns out. I haven't looked at the Sagarins but I don't think any of our opponents are in the top half of the rankings.
We are going to run into a defensive team, perhaps Rutgers or South Florida, that can actually get to the quarterback and then we're going to have issues.
I wouldn't call Rutgers a defensive team. They can't throw the ball and their defense is suspect. UC needs to do their best to stop Ray Rice, if he gets stopped then Rutgers has a hard time moving the ball.
As far as USF goes, I am concerned about playing them. Their defense is for real..

Rutgers may not be defensive but coming into this week Mike Teel lead the nation in passing efficiency. Probably not after Maryland but they have more than Ray Rice.

OR St is #50 in this week's Sagarin (#46 in the more precise Predictor ranking). So, the Beavers are in the top 1/2. Although, none of the other opponents are.

Lots of teams that might be paper tigers in the poll right now based on the fact that they have not played anyone or the fact that the teams that they have beaten are overrated.

So who are the real teams - the ones that won are overated and the wons who are lost are overrated. THere must be a secret group of teams out there that we don't know about that should be ranked.

To me, LSU looks like they might be a cut above the rest...USC of course, (although they didn't look so hot against Washington)and I've been impressed with Cal - maybe Arizona State (although I hate to mention so many PAC 10 teams)
I'm not convinced that S. Fla or Kentucky are all that, although S Fla. has beaten all the ranked teams they have faced this year
Can't forget Ohio State or Wisconsin...God, I hate to mention O$U in a positive sentence.
I dunno....maybe football parity has caught up with basketball parity.
