Central Michigan having a whole new coaching staff, rumors have began to fly that some of their commits may be looking elsewhere. One of them is Montague (MI) three star quarterback Cody Kater.
Could Coach Jones now be in a position, and maybe the mood (see Mazza to ND thread), to recruit former CMU Verbal?

Dan Enos was hired at CMU last week.

Kater has publicly stated that he committed to CMU not Butch Jones and that he`ll be attending CMU regardless of who the coach is.

Is that why he is now committed to UC?

Sounds like good news to me. Massa can head to ND and Jones gets a QB that he probably likes more.

I had a feeling that BJ would contact some of those recruits. No offense to CMU and the MAC but 3 star recruits were not attracted to the School but rather the Coach and his system. Great pick-up Subflea!

I agree. Do you think Jones tells Massa that his spot has been filled?

Officially committed to UC....
He also had offers from Northwestern and TCU. Looks like a decent pickup.

Isn't this about when Massa becomes a 4* since ND is in the hunt now.
Sorry about the sarcasm - glad to see Butch get someone he wants and is comfortable with - Kater looks like a good prospect with some Dan LeFevour in him (no do you have any Italian in you jokes necessary). Also good to see he was beating a Big Ten program and a top notch TCU program recruiting this kid to CMU. We will see with next year's class how he really is as a recruiter - this year he's getting everybody he can and building relationships for the future.

Funny seeing the negative comments at the bottom of the article - exactly the same as the articles talking about BK recruiting Massa. Recruiting is ugly and the perception of the coach changes on a daily basis.

You can use your sarcasm all you want, but Florida took a 2 star player (tyler murphy) who was going to go to Temple. ESPN has already taken him from 2 to 3 stars and my guess is that he gets his rating bumped even more soon.

youtube highlights. Kind of a long, wind up throwing motion (reminds me a byron leftwich's), but is accurate and can throw on the run. Check out the crazy formation they ran at 4:45
Looks to be a decent runner too, quick and fast and can make people miss. The more competition at QB, the better.

It is long, but he doesn't bring it as low as the guy from Louisville last year did. Probably will see a redshirt his first year, but depending on how Kay comes back he could be a need.

Was it Brohm or his back up? Can't remember which, but do remember the 'gift' for defenses of a nice, long wind up.

Great reporting...in the Orange Bowl, did we lose to Iowa or Georgia Tech? :)

Hunter Cantwell....the QB for a year after Brohm. He had an amazing arm, but brought the ball down so low and had a very long delivery. Enough to take him from a top recruit to an undrafted free agent in the NFL.

I don't know if we will know that answer until Spring practice at best and fall at worst. Hopefully he will be able to get to full strength, but would doubt if we see him getting much PT this upcoming year.

It's to bad really, I was hoping someone would push Collaros this year. I'm definitely in the minority but I'm concerned our passing game is going to take a bigger step back next year than most people are anticipating, even with all the talent returning at WR.

How did Kay get hurt?
If I recall correctly, it was in practice.
