I'm sure a lot of you have seen the movie, "The Blind Side". If you haven't, go see it. It offers a good portrayal of how big time coaches go after big time recruits. Then, make sure you read the book because the book goes a bit deeper into this topic.

If you are really interested in learning more about the recruiting process, read Meat Market by Bruce Feldman. It follows Ed Orgeron one year at Ole Miss, going though the entire recruiting season. Highly recommended if you're at all interested in getting an in-depth look at major college recruiting.

Michael Lewis wrote it. Same guy who wrote Moneyball a must read for anyone.

I agree. Meat Market is a better book from the recruiting end.

Blind Side was a pretty good book, but I don't remember that much about recruiting.
I read a book a few years back that was pretty decent.
Recruiting Confidential: A Father, a Son, and Big Time College Football
The book title is a little misleading. His son got sniffs from big time, but he was a mac level talent. Still worth a read.
I am going to pick up meat market here shortly. Thanks for the heads up.
