I'm of the opinion that we definitely need a RB in this class. Don't know much about him, though.

He is supposedly solid on BYU and taing the visit for a free trip, but I don't think Butch would allow that. If he is here, then there is smoke....nothing is over until Feb 3rd LOI is received by the chosen school. I think this guy could be a nice speedster to run outside, catch balls out of the backfield, and sometimes line up in either the z or slot (rb mentality catching balls over the middle while LB's try to cover him). We shall see!

We need all the talented RB's we can get. We lack Depth at almost every position.

A free trip? To Cincinnati? In February? I have a hard time believing this.
I would understand visiting San Diego St or Hawaii for a free trip... But Cincinnati???
He very well may be solid on BYU...and maybe this is just his way of simply making sure... But I have to believe there is enough interest in UC to make the trip.

Supposedly he is very fast. Obviously needs to add some weight, but he seems like he would be a solid addition. We could really use a running back in this class. Sell him on the fact that BYU would be an incredibly boring place to go to college, haha.

Agreed, Cincinnati in the winter for a kid from Alabama is no vacation. BYU is a solid locale for a RB who doesn't have prototype size. UC's scheme could utilize his speed and put him in positions to be successful. Alabama is a heck of alot closer than UTAH and we are the only BCS School who recruited him. He definitely is serious about UC.

He's not coming any longer...apparently he just wanted to show his dad and uncle what recruiting trips were like.
“I made it very clear to the Cincinnati coaches that they didn’t need to bother offering me a scholarship because I didn’t want one. BYU is the only scholarship offer I need since that’s the school I’m signing with.”

Check out the dates on those articles....the one from lance's blog (which you linked to) was from Wednesday. The scout article is an update from Thursday. Looks like he's a solid commit to BYU.

I am glad Butch pulled the plug on this "excursion". The kid tried to pull the proverbial wool over UC's eyes. Too bad he was so up front about it, because if a kid needs to put on weight UC is one of the best places to get strength/conditioning. Our facilities may have swayed him...now we will never know. Ha, heard a similiar phrase in a song I listened to yesterday
