This is interesting. Not sure if it belongs under the Football thread or Where Are They Now?

WOW! There were what, about 19 guys in that class almost half (8?) of whom contributed absolutely nothing to the advancement of UC football except to leave. I thought Dantonio (this was one of his classes, wasn't it?) was supposed to have brought in a higher caliber of player, irrespective of "stars."

Different Brandon. The basketball one was a soccer goalie in high school.

I get to listen to a lot of UVA and VTech talk shows and they love signing day around here. The notable take-away from all the talk I heard is in Frank Beamer and in the past, Al Groh recruiting classes, both have had similar results. In each recruiting class they get 1/3 to be solid contributors, 1/3 to "fill out the roster", and 1/3 that move on to their life's calling. From the 1/3 that contribute, they hope to get two or three stars. And it's probably similar to that throughout the country. You just want that 1/3 solid contributors to be better than the other guy's contributors.

Good Post! The addiction of College Football drives us to make more out of the recruiting process than its reality; a crap shoot. Can't wait for Spring Game!!!
