It appears that Wilks has not gotten through NCAA clearinghouse. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about, but he has not been practicing with the team.

Hang tight. He's going to be able to play (even though he will be our 10th man in). This is just the hangover from him switching from 08' to 07'. He didn't get pre-cleared for 2007 yet. Coaches said he is fine.

Remember that he was a class of 2008 recruit that switched to 2007. I am only speculating that this is the cause of the delay, but this delay seems reasonable given that fact.

I haven't read the story yet, but why couldn't this have been cleared up before practiced started, they knew he was reclassifying as 2007 months ago!!

How many times has this story been revisted and when has it ever turned out with the player being cleared? I will count Wilks out for the season and be pleasently surprised if he does get cleared.

Wilks is going to be fine. Biggie just got cleared by the NCAA yesterday and practiced with the team. Just a timing issue with Wilks reclassifying. Normally takes 3+ months to get cleared. They recommend you get your stuff in by October for May/June graduation.

I will give you a big AMEN to that. How many times has this happened with a happy result? We are either still experiencing a post Huggins hangover or the problem lies with the athletic department.

I think he will be cleared, but I for some reason I feel like a battered women who keeps returning to her boyfriend. I would love to know our record on late clearinghouse entries in the last few years. I bet the % is worse than our conference record last year - 0-2 last year.

I really think he will be OK, but if not I wonder if he can practice with the team?

History has made us pessimistic about these types of issues. I guess we will believe that he can play when we see it. I trust you guys who are saying he'll play this year but Abdul Herrera, Hernol Hall, Adam H (did I spell that right?) and Jason Henry are in my memory.

. It 's understandable why UC fans might be skeptical. UC basketball fans have had there share of bad news from the NCAA going back to the the Tony Yates years. Wnen UC had six players aacademically ineleigible. Maybe wihen Wilks becomes eligible this will beginning of the tide turning in UC favor. Go UC
