To make Colerain our feeder school.

OSU has Glenville and we should have the Cardinals. They have 3 or 4 D1 prospects and it is now time for us to get some more.

You would think with Bryd and Goodman having such successful careers and Coombs being a god over there we should have no problem landing whoever we want.

It is time for him to land these guys. Right now.

I assume the longer he is gone the fewer connections to the school he has. there is a lot of talent there this year and we will see what they do. Of course that talent didn't get them very far last year.

He still has plenty of connections at the school - his wife is the assistant principal and they still live in the district.

Yeah, but keep in mind some student athletes just want to go away for college and experience life in another state and whether they like or dislike UC has nothing to do with their decision.

Correct... unfortunately the Colerain pipe line hasn't developed as much as many of us would have liked it to over the past few years... many of the studs on the 2004 State Championship team went elsewhere:

Connor Smith OSU
Tyler Moeller OSU
Eugene Clifford OSU
Cobrani Mixon MICH
Mister Simpson MICH
Terrence Sherrer Minnesota
Spencer Smith OSU

There are 4 legit BCS level prospects in Colerain's 2011 class... if UC could land 2 that would be good, 3 would be great...

Grace, Williams, Durham and Dukes.

I know UC is recruiting Grace and Williams, not sure about Durham and Dukes..

The fact that we are now on our 3rd head coach in 7 years doesn't help either - especially with the local kids. I can see how a kid might be skeptical about whether the head coach is going to be at UC in 4 years. Jones has his work cut out for him.

Can't really compare the '04 class since UC was in its last year of CUSA at that time and had not even begun to sniff the success that we have seen the last three years. If we don't start getting some of these local guys in the near future then I think there may be some cause for concern.

What is scary is that out of that 2004 list none of those guys turned out to be anything in college. The only two that really did from that team were Byrd and Revels both at UC.

Connor Smith was an enormous bust.

Mixon, Clifford, Simpson, and Sherrer all transferred out of the schools they signed with for one reason or another.

I hope UC makes a run at Durham and Andrew Smith on this current Colerain team. I think both are very good prospects.

I'm not high at all on Tyler Williams.

Couldn't BearcatChris lock up Colerain for us?

Ahh.... I remember the Eugene Clifford hyperventilation days quite well. Wonder what he's up to at Tennessee State or wherever he ended up.

His wife is Principal at one of the elementary feeder schools. That said, KC is still revered in the community and Tom Bolden was one of his long time assistants.

i ended up watching them play EKU, he had a pick 6. considering that his name is on draft watch lists, he must be doing okay

Everything I've seen has said he's done quite well getting at least his football career back on track there...
