An interesting thing in that story... Fletch played seven years of professional basketball basically travelling the world. Not sure whether or not he has his degree, but, I'd say the life's experiences he's gathered would more than make up for the lack of a piece of paper saying he has sufficient credit hours to enter the "real world".

Obviously, the "0% graduation rate" crowd never talks about that!

Fletcher earned his UC degree in 2000.

Thanks for that'58. I guess whether or not he has a degree wasn't my major point (though I'm glad he has it). Other guys had gone his route prior to graduating, and were made "easy targets" by the media.

Something like 35 Bearcats graduated between 1990 and 2005.

The UC Web site used to have pictures of most of them in their cap & gown. Or the media guide did, I forget which.

In 2007, I think 1 Bearcat (Allen) graduated but not sure about the other 1 (McGowan).

Fletch is a success twice, already. He successfully prepared himself for his chosen career in basketball and also graduated.

I congratulate him mostly for the first item and secondarily for the diploma. Because in my opinion, he properly used his university experience to prepare him for his future job (just like I did). The fact he completed his degree requirements in that time frame is just a bonus. He could have gone back to school anytime after he was done playing ball professionally. Congrats to Fletch!

Allen graduated? I saw him hanging around UC with Sikes and JWill the other day at TUC.

I think so. He was on track to do so last summer.
