A few commentators are making the outrageous assertion that the Big East could send 10 teams to the NCAA.
At the beginning of this season how many of you, if told there would be 10 Big East teams in the tourney, would have picked us to be one of the 6 teams left out?
Do they keep records for futility? Maybe that's the record book Mick is shooting for.

If this is genuine one, it could help UC get a greater chance of getting the NCAA tourney bid and also help Mick get a relief on his coaching accomplishment. Right now, UC has been in 11th place in Big East? Very close.

I doubt 10 BE teams make it. That would be absurd. Funny thing is if they did we'd still be out.

Dream on. 4 wins might do it or might not. If you think they can win 3, 4 or 5 call a bookie and do a parlay. $100 might win you a fortune.
Save your money this team is not Syracuse winning 4.

This tells me they are taking nine unless an outsider wins out. We have as good of chance as any from 10 thru 16. It also speaks to the toughness from top to bottom which increased this year. The bottom half is better than last year.

The Big East is not that great after the top. Notre Dame, Seton Hall, UConn, and Marquette have exactly zero big wins OOC. It's reputation that is carrying the day for the conference.
And UC has zero chance of winning this tournament. Let's be real.

Hey Negative Nancy...this team CAN do it...They have a very good draw...Rutgers, UL, WVU, maybe Pitt...then the championship. I would not be shocked if they made it to the Big East Championship.
Whats wrong with being optimistic?
Deonta is going to play his heart out...Lance is playing in front of all his people...and Yancy plays better at major tournaments(Maui).
I don't feel like reading your negativity...if you don't have anything positive to say...then keep your garbage to yourself. K? Thanks!

Here I thought UConn beating Texas was OOC. I guess Texas has folded, UConn is done. BE might only get nine then.

Are there really people out there that still belive we can make the NCAA's if we don't win the BE tourney? I sure hope not. If you think we can win the BE Tourney let me know, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.

Texas isn't even top 25. They are playing about as bad as UConn right now. If that's enough for you then so be it.

That's the problem. There aren't a whole lot of good teams (major or mid-major); or rather there aren't enough good teams to fill out all of the at large slots. Marquette, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, and So. Fla are just as good/bad as all the other potential bubble teams.
The BE could get 9 - 10 teams in the tournament because the rest of the field is weaker - the worst is the Pac 10 - its a shame they have to send 1.

I get a lot of Texas games down here. They went kaputt mid season. They have talent at every position in a sense. Balbay is a great PG but he can't shoot unless he gets to the rim. Everyone else can play one on one. No chemistry this year. I chalk that up to losing Varez Ward, of all people, early in the season.

You're all missing the irony. The year the Big East may get 10 and we're STILL not one of them. How sad a commentary on the state of UC basketball is that?

If we win four games I think we have chance.

I think we all get it, I just think none of us want to harp on it or rub salt in the wound . . .

Actually I think we have a chance with two more wins (including the Rutgers win). Our out of conference schedule was tough. Those wins over Maryland and Vandy look really good right now. Two wins gets us to 19-15. We are a tough out and we play a lot of close games which is what the NCAA tourny is all about. Plus getting to the third round means we must have beaten two tourney worthy teams to get there.

What's the point of this thread? Somebody needs to just stop and delete these things full time or ban repeat offenders from being able to post again.
