wow. This is like coach number 4 or 5 so far.
I agree I thought Seton Hall was improving.

maybe one of his players shouldn't have punched the Texas Tech player in the junk last night.

Very surprised to see this. Seton Hall was a tough team this year.

I'm still shocked they fired Louis Orr right after a NCAA appearance. Orr = 5 yrs, Gonzales = 4 years. And people say we're impatient???

Apparently this has more to do with off-court stuff than on-court.

#5 I wouldn't say we are impatient. We are sticking with our coach at least another year and rightfully so. Our patience will pay off because we will be one of the top twenty teams next year. I bet some of the NY fans(St.J, SH, Rutgers) wonder how we got a guy like Stephenson out of their backyard. I like our situation better than most.

Was Seton Hall the school where a relative came on the court last year when his brother was fouled?

You're right...sounds like he had some character issues, and by what the law school dean said, it sounds like the ball-punching incident from Pope might have been the icing on the cake.

All the transfers were very questionable characters.....plus the administration hated his guts it was bound to happen

Maybe they'll hire Tommy Amaker back.

Big mistake on their part. They have a couple really nice players on their roster. I hope they end up regretting this decision.

That was Providence.

It is tough to win in the Big East, and Providence and Seton Hall may just be the toughest places to win. Gonzalez was widely disliked in the coaching community and apparently by the Seton Hall administration as well. They have a new arena to play in (along with the woebegone Nets), but that is about it. If Seton Hall, Rutgers and St. John's ever get good, this league will go from ridiculously good to impossibly good.

Gonzalez is a good bball man, but a hack as a person. He, singlehandedly, is as responsbile for the xavier rivalry intensity with huggins as anyone. He's the one who yelled at huggins from the bench of the no handshake game when he was an assistant on gillen's staff. He's still trying to live down his indiscretions as manhattan coach.

I know Don spoke very highly of Bobby Gonzalez. I'll be interested to hear his take on this subject.
