With all of the underclassman declaring for the draft Lance is goint to fall farther and farther down the draft board. I don't care what his finance's are it is all about what you can make in the future. The cupboard is going to be cleared out this year and next year if Lance has just a very good year he could be top 5. Lets be honest here in that when Kenyon was coming out that class was very week. He was a very good player who would have been a 7-12 pick most years. That year he just happend to be the most dominate player in the land. Love Kenyon but it is true. In my mind Danny Forston was a better player than Kenyon in college and he was only the 10th pick. He did come out early and he was not the injury risk Kenyon was.

Anyway, if I were Lance I would hedge all of my bets that the NBA will not have a lockout and go in a weaker draft, rather then a loaded one.

sorry sir...but I disagree with the statement Danny Fortson was a better player then Kenyon in college...I mean...Kenyon took over games...he did it all for the team and was the most dominant player in the game...if you want an example of one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen that go to youtube and watch the 2000 game against DePaul...it was sick.

I agree that Lance should wait...but the kid is 19 years old and sees dollar signs right now...

Lance is making the right decision. He'll be able to show off in front of scouts and will end up being a first round pick. Good news for him, bad news for us.

A lot of these kids have been poor all their life and if they have a chance to make 6 figures next year, they're going to take it and you cant blame them. I dont know if Lance grew up poor but with a daughter to take care of and such, it makes sense he does not want to wait another year.

He11, I wouldn't.

I would be extremely surprised if Lance is a first round pick and think it is more likely he will not be drafted, he is a nice player but he does not have the size, elite athleticism or basketball skills to be a high draft choice.

Agree. He's a an FA or NBADL. Europe would be better for him but what to do when you have a 2 year old?

What happens if he doesn't get drafted or doesn't make the team as a second rounder?

I disagree with your disagree. Danny Fortonson did not have the supporting cast that Kenyon did! Kenyon was surrounded by a great cast of players. Fortonson was not. To make my point even a little more Demarr Johnson was the 6th pick in that draft. No way he was better than Fortson. That was a weak draft my friend.

Kenyon was made for the NBA! Fortson was a beast in college though. Besides Fortson showed it day one when he stepped onto the court.

he'll do fine overseas (it pays better than the D-League). i'm not happy with the choice, but 95k-100k in the hand is apparently better than a mill in the bush.

From what I heard, even if there is no lockout, there could be changes in the next CBA that would reduce the rookie salary scale. So either way, he still faces a risk.

Fortson didn't have the supporting cast that Kenyon had??????? I completely disagree with that statement. In fact, Huggins recently commented that the 1996 team was the best team he ever coached.

I will agree that Fortson played better early in his college career than Kenyon. But Kenyon's senior year was one of the most dominant performances I've ever seen. And by the way, Kenyon would have been drafted number one in almost every other class in the last 15 years (excluding Lebron Jame's class of course). Nobody could pass on such a dominant center.

Lance will be drafted just based on his potential and what he did in high school. I see a team in the NBA that already has what they need picking Lance in the second round. He has a lot of potential and the risk of picking him is outweighed by the possible future reward
