Very nice pickup. He could play either OLB or be a hard hitting SS. Best news I've heard all day!

While I think football recruiting is over hyped, one area of recruitment that will have a huge impact is Linebacker. I dont remember too many highly regarded linebacker recruits choosing UC. This is definetely good news.

Also had offers from Colorado, Iowa, Iowa St, UL, WV, and Wisconsin per article.

Good Recruit although I wonder if he is more of a safety playing linebacker. Key will be if we can keep this kid in the fold if he has a big Senior year.

I expect that to change in a big-time way with this class.

Montrell, your posts are always spot on and insightful so when I read that your expectations are high on this class that is a very good sign.
Now for my question,,, do you or anyone on this board have info on how Jordan Stepp has progressed? It would really help the dl depth to have another productive 285-300 pounder.
Also does Monte Taylor being eligible rumor have legs and what type of upside impact could he have?

Agreed. I think we could see up to three very highly thought of linebackers. Possible 4 star guys like Poole and Stevens

Who knows how good Monte will be on the field but his physical skill set is unmatched on our current D-line.

Thanks for the comments.
Stepp is going to be a player. Very likely a multi-year starter. This year I expect him to be a solid depth provider on the Defensive Line.
Taylor is eligible, but I honestly have no idea what kind of impact to expect from him.

That's what I've been hearing as well. They are positioning themselves very well with a lot of guys for this recruiting class. It will be interesting to see if they'll take 2 more linebackers or try to get 3 more.
Guys like Temple and Andrew Smith could potentially project at both Outside Linebacker or Strong Safety.
