#128....that hurts! No way can I agree with this. Cut that # in half and you get a much closer reperesentation of where this team is in my opinion. Just out of the 64 (65), but close, if not in, NIT.

It is unbeleivable some of the teams ahead of us.

Thats pretty bad considering Miami and OU are ahead of us.
Doesnt matter what the preseason polls say once we start playing and hopefully wining!

They are judging the team off of the cast from last year and that ranking for last year should be right about there. The team didn't get into the NIT and was last in the Big East, lost to some bad games along the way as well - Wofford finished 10-20 last year.
As an outside observer I don't know what would make me think that this team would be that much better than last year.
I don't agree that they are this bad, but I can't argue with a preseason ranking like this. We are worried about Belmont and they are 144 on this list.

Bearcats are borderline Top 100 team in 2008. Much better than 2007 team.

I agree with that. Just can't critisize someone for not thinking they are top 75.

They will be lucky to be the final team in the big east to get into the nit.. i think eleven teams from our con will get in ncaa or nit and i think we are right there.. if we had mike id say maybe 18-12 and final spot in the nit from our con for sure.. we r not 128 but the guy has a point.. they are basing the team off last years while keeping in mind that we have young talent coming in.. next year we will be an nit lock and an ncaa bubble and two years from now we will be an ncaa team for sure.. its about the future.. but this team will atleast be exciting.. eleven in our con wouldnt be bad our con is freakishly good.. we have talent! it all depends on how quick we mature!

If we are over .500 we are in the NIT IMO.

You should be happy that the team is ranked as high as # 128. Did you see the two exhibition games? Coming off of a 11-19, 2 Big East win season with 6 freshman on the team the boys are going to struggle. This is rebuilding year # 2.

Rebuilding Year #3 was FF season.

Why would anyone on this forum ever be happy w/ #128. And yes I went to the 2nd ex. game (neither of which I think tell us anything) and will be at all 3 this coming (which should tell us more). I think an exact repeat of last year would constitute #128. However w/ a year of gained experience for all returners as well as Adam H. and some talented freshmen (I, know they are still freshmen), NIT is very realistic. As you will/have notice(d) I seem to always error on the side of optimism w/ the Cats (just havent adapted yet to losing, and hopefully wont need to). I really do feel that #128 is VERY low.
Preseason polls are for non-fans! Real fans know they don't matter, it's like trying to predict what your wife will look like in 30 years! Does it really matter? Move on and enjoy the ride this year! It could be fun.

Final Four I think, could he be referring to '92?

I guess he is, but what does that have to do with anything?
How about this: 1st rebuilding year was national championship. That statement makes as much since as "Rebuilding Year #3 was FF season."

I care more about the rankings at the end of the year. This gives them a little more motivation to prove naysayers wrong.

Rebuilding was plenty tough in 1989. Bearcats were still on (Yates) NCAA probation. Hadn't been to FF in over 25 years.
And yet, there they were in 1992 FF.
Why not a repeat in 2009???

I'm thinking a more realistic shot at the Final Four is Vaughn's senior year (what is that, '10 or '11?), especially if Mike is granted a sixth year of eligibility. NIT this year, NCAA next year and then the Final Four.

Wow. I guess these rankings were wrong, but in the other way.
Belmont - 144
Bowling Green -216
