I think we can all get off the ledge now. As for how much he contributes this year, we'll have to see starting Wednesday. But, for now we can all calm down on the "here we go again" stuff since this was nothing like the Hernol Hall or Adam H cases...otherwise we'd still be waiting.

There's always doubt when regarding the NCAA. Regardless of whether any of us believe in conspiracy theories (please tell me you STILL don't believe in Lochie, Big Foot, the grassy knoll, and the NCAA hating UC), it is clear that the NCAA is horribly inept at providing student athletes with "timely" decisions. They have way too much power to wield it so ineptly. The shame of it is that good kids who work hard and play "fair" are punished by the low NCAA standards. If these people worked in the real world, they would (as Ross Perot would say), not make it past middle management. Shameful.

Congratulations to Wilks. Regardless of his extenuating circumstances, he should not have sat for even a day. But he kept is head up and his mouth shut. Can't wait to see him play...

BCL is now reporting that he has been cleared to practice and did practice yesterday, however, he has not yet been cleared for games and it is likely he will not play in the exhibition on Wednesday.

Can someone remind me if Adam H was allowed to practice with the team last year? Is it still possible that Wilkes will be permitted to practice with the team this year, but not play?

I believe both Adam H. and Mike W. practiced all year last year. Williams was different since he was a transfer, but Adam was ineligible and practiced, so I guess Wilks being cleared to practice doesnt necessarily indicate one way or the other.

Just having him eligible to play is huge for him in terms of his development. When you are forced to sit out a whole year (even if you can practice), you just don't get the crucial game experience necessary to improve as a player.
