I see Mike has finally started a file on him, looks as though he will be deciding on Nov. 13th. Do we have a realistic shot at him? From what I've read, looks like he'll stay in Texas...

Well you know if Mike has started a file, the Bearcats have an excellent chance

Realistic....yes. Probable.....I don't think so.
Might be time to move on to 2009 since I don't know who else is out there. We have heard about Euros, but no names or possibilities. I have seen UC on 2009 lists and with 0 scholorships available due to one 2009 commitment it shows me that Mick is holding at least one of them.
Also, he will be holding one over for Mike Williams who may or may not be taking on up in 2009.

Willie Warren exclued who would turn this class from a small group of talent kids to a small group that will help out immediatly.

I agree, seems like Big East level players in '08 are very few now. Hopefully we can get either Brown or Warren. From what's left in '08, hopefully Brown or Warren will take 1 scholly, then save the other 2 for '09. This is how the team would shake out next year:
PG - Vaughn (Jr.), Wright (Fr.)
SG - Davis (Soph.), Warren or Brown? (Fr.)
SF - Wilks (Soph.), Mitchell (Soph.), Bishop (Soph.)
PF - Williams (5th-year Jr.), Belton (Soph.), Gates (Fr.)
C - McClain (Soph.)
No seniors, plus Miller as a walk-on and maybe Travis Kelcie after football, 11 scholarship players (manageable). For '09 if Mike gets a 6th year, McElroy as possible redshirt? w/still 2 open schollys to give for '09.

We've got to replace Miller after next year? Where are we going to find the next little white guy, high GPA, for-sure graduate, walk-on stud?
Just kidding. Miller has been a real asset for the team.
I don't think we'll be seeing any football players playing for Mick.

I'd guess UC has a chance but I think Texas has a better shot at him.

Actually, I was a bit late on it but I think the Cats do have a good chance.

Better late than never Mike, especially if he comes here. Outside of the center spot, the 2-guard is the position where we can offer the most immediate playing time next year with Davis as the only true 2-guard on next year's team. I think Mitchell will stay at the small forward spot. Could be wrong, but I think Brown or Warren would be able to come in and start over Davis next year almost immediately. Here's to hoping at least one of the 2 will be a Bearcat next year.
Has Brown visited campus?

I can't imagine a big time prospect signing with a college that they haven't even visited....although come to think of it, didn't Cashmere verbal without visiting?
Maybe Mick is just that good of a recruiter. Either way, I doubt Brown suits up in a Bearcats uniform. Hope I'm wrong.

There have been several (recent) Bearcat recruits who verballed before visiting. Larry Davis comes to mind.

Cash was here during the summer at the adidas Take 5 event. And just because Brown hasn't visited officially doesn't mean he has never been here before.

The TMAC All Stars were also at the Take 5, so that means J'CB would have been here. I do not recall watching TMAC play, so I cant tell you if he was definitely with the team that day, but he likely was.

Reputation is that he's a lights out long distance shooter. Not sure if that's more hype than substance since we've yet to discover anyone who's actually seen him play.
If he is..........a verbal to UC would probably garner him instant playing time next season just for his three point shooting......because we all know we're in dire need of that.

Belton, Mitchell, Warren, Sikes and Crowell, too.
