Figured it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to the results/progress of each of the members of Class of 2011 (rather than posting on their inidividual threads).

@AdamZagoria: Cincinnati signee Shaquille Thomas of Montclair, N.J. dropped 38 for NIA Prep Sunday in win over West Point Academy.

According to Shaq himself, he had 40 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists in a game. Not sure if same game as the 38 Zagoria is reporting on.

@DaveTelep: There's one thing Shaquille Thomas (NIA) has always been able to do: finish.

@EvanDanielscout: Shaquille Thomas may have a slight, skinny frame. But the 6-foot-6, maybe 6-7, wing has terrific touch and can really score from the wing

@chbrendel: 27 points, 7 boards and 5 assists for Shaq Thomas in an OT win against Maine Institute tonight.

Jeremiah Davis had 16 points in a 20-point win against Bowman Academy (IN). Bowman includes 4-star junior Dejuan Marrero (UC offer... wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at X or Illinois)

this recruiting class looks real strong, tall, athletic guys that seem like they can run the court. guyn's numbers are impressive and cash needs some help at point. im looking forward to see shaq and octavious (great name) play. even though ellis is only 185 you know uc's weight program will beast him up real quick. biggie went from 225 to 290. as long as gates stays and gaines is as athletic as mick says our interior should be fine next year. hopefully he adds another big man, any word on who mick is targeting for the last scholarship?

mick was asked on the radio show monday night about which freshman will see time next year....his response was "we're gonna need Jermaine and Shaq to play for us."

UC is pretty thin numbers wise in terms of returning bodies. Only 6 guys with game action this year (assuming all return, no guarantees on that), 7 with Gaines- who is a project right now, and who I am expecting very little out of next year.

As an aside - the name of the high school, "Boys & Girls" is one of those insane politically correct kinds of things. Who else would go to a NYC public high school, panda bears? This is a combination of the old Boys High, which at one time was the only all boys general public high school in the city, and Girls Commercial, which was all girls, but the primary objective of which was to train girls as secretaries/bookkeepers. Instead of maintaining the separate schools and transitioning the girls curriculum to a more general academic one the powers that be insisted on this ridiculous amalgam. :( Drives me nuts!

it is as crazy as having a bank merger and keeping both names - 5/3. to you really want a bank that can't reduce fractions? And then to have our arena named after it . . . ugh!
