View Full Version : Brian Kelly
I found the solution is our bad basketball problem. Mick should have Kelly come talk to the players once a week, if he can motivate 105 football players, I'm sure he can motivate 13 basketball players!!!

Energy from the leader can be reflected by the player. Mick looks worn out at 10 in the morning. Mick is a good coach and has a lot of energy. I think he is putting additional pressure on himself to perfom at a high level, right now. I like the will, but he needs to relax and do what he does. He is not any of his mentors, he is himself.
Kelly is not the leader of the b-ball team, Cronin is!
I understand Kelly is the football coach, but in every organization not just sports the coach, president, CEO will bring in a motivator to give the players, employees, etc. some motivation. With the way they looked this weekend it wouldn't hurt, maybe not every week but this week wouldn't hurt

Cronin has to recruit extra hard. As you have seen many kids are committing 2 or 3 years early. Mick has been here for two recruiting classes and wasn't able to get an early foundation on many players here or in the future. Also, I don't think he focused on 2009 due to the limited (now what could be 3) scholorships, but now I have seen cincinnati listed with a few of the 2009 kids.

Brian Kelly played at Georgetown (DC) in 1980's. Purcell graduate then. Different Brian Kelly, of course.

it's hard to say this. motivating 105 players if so much more. you can motivate each player individually. i think mick talks to his players one on one more rather in a big speech like kelly. its just two different things. the motivation is needed though thats a good point.
