Any word on Mr. Warren? I haven't seen any updates since reading that he had narrowed his choices to UCONN, Cincy, Kansas and Oklahoma.

True but I wouldn't count on him until he enrolls and attends his first class. Changes his mind A LOT.

I beleive the spring signing dates are April 16th thru May 21st, so he will have to make his final decision before classes start for the 08-09 school year, unless he wants to sit out for another year.

I don't think signing a LOI is a requirement to play your freshman year. I don't think Wilks ever signed a LOI with UC and he's playing right now.

I thought you had to sign a LOI to receive a scholarship.

Per the NCAA.
You are not required to sign a National Letter of Intent but many student-athletes sign a National Letter of Intent because they want to create certainty in the recruiting process. Specifically, by signing a National Letter of Intent, you agree to attend the institution for one year in exchange for the institution's promise, in writing, to provide you athletic financial aid for the entire academic year. Simply, by signing a National Letter of Intent you are given an award including athletics aid for the upcoming academic year provided you are admitted to the institution and you are eligible for athletics aid under NCAA rules. Furthermore, by signing a National Letter of Intent you effectively end the recruiting process. Once you sign a National Letter of Intent, a recruiting ban goes into effect and you can no longer be recruited by any other National Letter of Intent school which leaves you free to enjoy your final year at your current institution.

Updated: November 19, 2007
6-5 1/2G Willie Warren (Fort Worth, Texas, North Crowley), one of the nation's best guards and top perimeter scorers, has sent his signed national letter of intent to the Oklahoma Sooners.
We have confirmed that the Sooners' basketball office has received the official signed document from Warren, who committed to coach Jeff Capel Friday. Warren chose Oklahoma over Kansas, Cincinnati and Connecticut.
