Butch lands another WR in 2 star Darius Patton, and it looks like Michigan may start to lose recruits. They were hot after this kid.

Scout has him listed as a 2 star and #196 in his position group. I haven't had the chance to look him up anywhere else, just got the new 20 minutes ago that he has verballed to UC.

Yup. ESPN has him at 77 at WR and 3 star and Rivals has him at 3 star. I imagine if the rankings were done now he would be much higher since his offer list is very strong now.

I was just able to confirm that Rival and ESPN both have him listed as a 3 star. We beat out some big schools for this kid. Keep up the good recruiting BJ.

That is the other thing. Have you looked at his profiles? Each one has a different list. Makes you wonder where he had offers to.

Yes I have, but there are similar names on each of his profile. I also noticed that his 40 times have been reported anywhere from 4.43 to 4.7 with each of his profiles being different. Honestly it is one of the stranger sets or profiles to look over. Now if we could end up with some defense from Pitt or Michigan I think that would be great.

One things for sure, Butch will have some talent on Offense at the skill positions. Would like to see better movement on D and any movement on the offensive line, but it's good to see him building for the future. Good pickup and hopefully we'll see more with all the collegiate coach shuffling going around.

This kid is a stud. He attends my old high school and I saw him play a couple of games the last two years and have been very impressed. He's quick, was hard to bring down, and when he played defense he always hit hard. He was also a very good punt and kick returner too.

Plus he also has a brother, Dom, who is a year or two younger and a lot of people at Poland believe that he may be better than Darius.

I think the kid will be a wideout unless he gets buried on 3 deep or over-recuited, then he could make the switch to Defense. We got kinda thin at WR this year with the injuries and academic issues.

As Crazy Lee Corso would say...Not so fast my friend! According to reports Darius has not committed to UC, or maybe we should say UC has decided they don't have room for him?!? Maybe the staff knows something about Bill Belton and we will move ahead with him and the guys currently committed, instead of adding Patton when we are in obvious dire need of some serious defensive commits!

ESPN was reporting it last night. Was that based on the same reports as Scout? Just wondering.

I have no idea, but Scout removed the story from their site which could mean one of a million things. One could be that the kid wanted to tell other coaches first, he could have tried to commit and our staff didn't accept the commitment at this time, he could have made the decision after hearing RR was fired at Michigan and his HS coach convinced him to wait to see who the new coach is.

There is a lot that could have happened, but it doesn't appear that the commitment is there right now (if it is ever really real anyway). Rivals is showing WVU as medium interest behind UC's high. Scout is showing high with Cincinnati and Michigan and medium with a bunch of others, ESPN is showing a verbal, but I don't think they have the staff to actually know.

It was just nice seeing Cincinnati next to a recruit's name across the bottom of the screen on ESPN. Regardless, I like our class.
