This team could be loaded for next year with the way SK and JJ are playing. I know, I know we are 16-1 and still can do amazing things this year. I just like thinking that maybe our program is back to where it needs to be and that is winning year in and year out. So next year is important as well. We have alot coming back but Cash's injuries scare me and we do not have a backup this year that can replace what he does or else he should be sitting right now. I also don't see a backup for next year. He struggled again tonight at 1 for 7. He is shooting like 17% since depaul. I think he needs rest and I am not sure where he is going to get that.
What we lose from this class is not a ton. Of course we will miss the seniors they are good players but not superstars. Thomas and Larry Davis will be the hardest to replace but they have all been awesome in helping us rebuild this program don't get me wrong. My point being that we bring back a lot of talent as well with a good recruiting class. Everyone says we need a center but I would be happy with a super quick talented point gaurd as well.

I don't know about loaded, but I really like the way Kilpatrick and Jackson are playing. Cronin found a couple of very good players in those two. And Jackson is starting to show some signs of breaking out offensively.

Thomas...as long as Gaines just scores 0 points, rebounds, and doesnt foul out he will easily replace Thomas. He has the size and nice skill set he just has no bball IQ. Big East teams are man handling him right now someone needs to teach him to not ball hawk a C at the 3 point line I don't see the point. Hopefully he wakes up for the SU game we can't afford to have him playing 15 minutes a game we need 28 out of him at least.

I'd say there's a good chance Jeremiah Davis will be a capable backup next year.

The starting 5 of Wright, Killer, DD, Gates & Jackson will be very good. But the bench will be all freshmen except Parker so they may struggle early.

A lot of time to think last night as the majority of the USF game felt like watching paint dry and was thinking along those same lines. The future is very bright for this team. A starting lineup of Cash, Dixon, Kilpatrick, Jackson, Gates should do some serious damage in the BEAST.

I hope so, and it sounds like you may be right, but we really have no idea who's going to be capable of what...

Hopefully we can bring in a JUCO pf or c to give us some more depth in a front court. I think Gaines will be a delightful surprise defensively next year.

the Cats are 16-1, can we enjoy this year first? Worrying about next year would be fine if they were 9-8 or something, but this has been a good season so far.....enjoy it!

Who is worried about next year? I think for the first time in a long time we can enjoy this season and not be worried about next year because the rebuilding process is finally over. Nothing wrong with fans looking ahead. If the team was looking ahead that would be another story.
