Killa comes in at #6. To earn that spot he really needs to become a more efficient scorer and work on his slashing/dribble drive. I'm thinking this is pretty close to where he should be, but there are some guys behind him that make me scratch my head (i.e. Shabazz Napier and C.J. Fair). Kudos to S.K. though for the national praise. Hope he has a great year!!!

 1) Conference Realignment--I would think UC is trying to sell itself to the Big 12 now, since the ACC is "closed". Any news?
2) Fundraiser for Nippert renovation--when is that going to start? In what form will it be in regards to the smaller donors? When is the projected date of construction?
3) Will the new carpet have the Big East logo or the AAC logo?
4) Do you agree that TT has his eyes on junior college players more than past coaches?
5) What are the plans for the Armory?

The title of this article is about reallignment, but it gives gives UC some props and has some great background on our new coach:

Changing landscape of college football leaves Cincinnati behind

The whole article is worth a read, but here are some interesting quotes about Tuberville:

"If I ever leave here," said Tuberville, of his fourth head-coaching job in 17 years, "I'll leave divorced."

.....

When Jones departed in early December, Babcock initially called Tuberville for a list of names........ the AD asked if Tuberville might be interested. Then Tubs ran it by Suzanne. The two had met in New Orleans during Miami's preparation for the 1990 Sugar Bowl. As Tuberville tells it, a bunch of Hurricanes coaches walked into the home of The Hurricane -- Pat O'Brien's. The coaches met some women and, well, Tuberville's life was suddenly realigned. Eight months later Suzanne Fette called out of nowhere, 15 minutes before he was about to step on the field for two-a-days.

Two years later they were married.

"I gave out one too many business cards," the coach said smiling.

......

If nothing else, the Bearcats have commitment -- from the administration, from a happy couple and from a son of the South who wonders a lot about geography these days. "I've always said I'd never coach north of the Mason-Dixon Line," Tuberville said. "[Maybe] I'm on top of it."

BEARCAT FOOTBALL TAILGATING FANS:

Important Update regarding 2013 UC Football Tailgating
Three premium tailgate spaces in the Myers Alumni Center parking lot will go up for auction starting tomorrow, May 7. The time period for that auction is being extended from 2 days to 3 days due to eBay regulations requiring a 72-hour minimum auction period.

The auction will be live from Tuesday, May 7 at noon, until Friday, May 10 at noon (times EST). The three spots are located on the eastern side of the lot. Each requires an opening bid of $600.

The lottery for 50 marked parking spots in the same parking lot is not affected by the auction change. Lottery applications will be accepted from May 10 through noon (EST) May 16, to purchase season parking passes. The registration link to participate in the lottery will be live starting at 8 a.m. on this page. Each spot is priced at $300.

The auction and lottery are part of the UC Alumni Association's Bearcats Blitz, which offers UC's best on-campus, surface-lot tailgating opportunity, just a short walk from Nippert Stadium. The spaces are available for the 6-game home schedule for 2013, starting Saturday, Aug. 31, when UC hosts Purdue.

Visit the UCAA's Bearcats Blitz tailgate page for more information and to access the opportunity to enter the auction and/or the lottery.

He's a base-stealing machine. Here's an article from fangraphs.com: "Put simply, Tony Campana is probably the very best base stealing weapon in Major League Baseball right now." ... Since "2011, you’ll actually see that Campana rates #2 in Major League Baseball in runs added through base stealing, behind only Coco Crisp, a player with 750 more plate appearances."

Unfortunately, Campana was traded to Arizona in the offseason, a team with one of the most crowded outfields in MLB. I hope he makes it back to the bigs. He's 27, which is really old for starting the year in AAA. He reminds me of Ryan Freel: he'd be a lousy starting outfielder in the bigs, but probably one of the best backup outfielders in the league to have on your team due to his hustle and running ability.
