Default Roscoe Smith latest to leave UConn

Quote:
First Alex Oriakhi transferred. Then Jeremy Lamb and Andre Drummond bolted for the NBA. Now Roscoe Smith is also leaving UConn.

Is it wrong to say I love seeing that pompous a-hole Calhoun suffer while his players and the UConn administration continue to realize that he's past the point of needing to retire?

Past the point of needing to retire? He won a title in 2011!

No. Kemba Walker won a title in 2011.

Let's not start the age old debate on which element of team is more important, coaching the X's and O's or player execution. Let's agree there is a combination of both required and agree to not discuss whether it is 70:30, 50:50, or 30:70 one way or the other.

Needless to say, the title would not have been won by Kemba or Calhoun without each other.

Yeah, I guess when UCLA won all of theirs, it wasn't John Wooden, it was all Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton.

Let's get the obvious out of the way. I don't like Calhoun. I think he's as crooked as Calipari and his pompousness is so over the top that every time he fakes his crooked smile an angel dies.

And I'm not going to compare the greatest basketball coach of all time (solely when looking at National Championships) to Calhoun because they're not even close to being in the same category (10 versus 3). Wooden was a great motivator, leader, mentor, and strategist that followed the rules so far as what is known about him. Obviously Calhoun cannot say the same given the current punishments UConn is facing.

Watching the 2010 Final Four and watching what Kemba Walker did to teams in the clutch was insane. IMO if you take Kemba Walker off of that team and replace him with any other PG/SG in the country that year they don't even make it to the tournament in 2011. That's solely why I said what I said. Not a knock on Calhoun's coaching ability at all because the dude knows basketball in and out as well as anybody.

I get easily confused. Is UConn leaving the Big East for the ACC?

No. But Calhoun wants UConn to jump ship.
