Default Parker Toughest Player in All College Basketball

According to Rothstein

THE SKINNY: Pound for pound the toughest player in all of college basketball, the 6-foot-3 Parker was the main reason why the Bearcats were able to advance to the Sweet 16 last season.

Nice props for a real Bearcat.

The author is NYC-based. He's probably seen more BE players than any other players.

Not in basketball. They only join for football this year. All other sports join in 2013.

Love this quote, "he’ll pair with Cashmere Wright and Sean Kilpatrick to give Cronin the best back court he’s ever had as a head coach.

Tough not to agree - his efforts last year under the hoop on both sides (O/D), rebounding, second efforts points and penetrating were amazing. I didn't realize he was 6'3" - he plays a heck of a lot bigger than that.

So, how did Jaquon Parker get the tough reputation? We've seen some warriors come through Cincinnati (i.e. Hicks, Maxiell, Fletcher, or Bostic).

Is Parker really that tough? The Sporting News references him in their write-up online.

Here's what DeCourcy has to say:

This is one of the deepest and most physical teams in Division I. Having a warrior such as Jaquon Parker to play small forward shows how rugged this team can be. He averaged 5.6 rebounds and pulled down double figures against Florida State’s nasty frontcourt. Becoming a serious Final Four contender will require juicing the offense. That will start with pushing the ball more frequently in transition and using the abundance of solid bench players to great effect. — Mike DeCourcy

As always, take what DeCourcy says with a huge grain of salt. He's a huge UC homer.
Its like turning on MSNBC and trying to get a fair assessment of the election. It ain't gonna happen.

Who cares. It is national attention. UC's basketball program needs attention in just about any way it can get it.
