Default Do anyone else get directed to a different website today?

When I went to bearcatnews.com this morning I ended up in what looked like a site ready to give my computer every virus known to computer kind.

We had a minor server glitch today. Things should be working normally now.

Default Whew!

I was in a panic - going to some strange, foreign site when I clicked on Bearcat News this afternoon. I thought maybe the site closed down and I had nowhere to go to get the best Bearcats coverage. Football starting soon, renewed excitement about basketball - I was in a cold sweat. I'm glad to now see the familiar home page again. Life is good.

Congratulations on the domain renewal! Insane that it was (around?) ten years old at the time. It is easy to let those things slip your mind and take it for granted. A quick WHOIS revealed "whoops! It was today!"

As soon as I saw a parked domain my heart stopped. I was like "if they need help paying rent I can pitch in 5$" heh

LOL. Yep that's exactly what I discovered. GoBearcats31 sent me a tweet at 1:00 CT but I didn't realize it until 4:00 CT. I did the same Whois search and went awww crap. I'm not going to blame any one. Stuff like this happens to the best of us. We're back and that's what counts.

A 10 year+ domain reg. Prior to today I've never actually seen one leased that long. I don't think there was such thing as auto renewal back then when the domain was licensed (lol, not joking) the net has changed in that time. There is nobody to blame. Not many people would wake up and think "I'm going to check the remaining time left on my domain!" It was a slowly ticking time bomb, and it was handled much more smoothly and quickly than some other sites I have seen do the same thing, and what's worse some people let their domain slip away in this time. Imagine if somebody from Cincinnati.com did that- actually don't, unless you have a bucket to contain all your vomit.

Funny story. The DMN's site Dallasnews.com did let their domain expire once. I tried to grab it and failed.
