Phil Steele put out his 2012 preseason All Big East teams and 13 Bearcats saw their names mentioned. Most notably, WR Anthony McClung and Punter Pat O'Donnell landed first team honors. A whopping 7 Cats landed on the second team, Kenbrell Thompkins, Austen Bujnoch, Dan Giordano, Walter Stewart, Maalik Bomar, Drew Frey and Ralph David Abernathy IV as kick returner. The 4th team saw the final Bearcats on the list, Jameel Poteat, Jordan Stepp, Cam Cheatham and Tony Miliano.
