Default UC and New Mexico play home-and-home

Quote:
Cronin is attempting to upgrade his schedule and has secured a top-25 home-and-home series, which isn’t easy in this era of schools looking for more neutral-site non-conference games. Cronin and New Mexico coach Steve Alford said they will play a home-and-home series next season, to start in Cincinnati. The Bearcats will visit the Pit the following season.

So this is how this year's OOC breaks down for the most part......

Home:
New Mexico
Wright State
SEC Opponent (I guess Tennessee or Alabama)
Two of the following four - Campbell, Jacksonville, Northern Arizona, North Carolina A&T

Neutral:
Xavier (we think)
Iowa State
UNLV or Oregon

Road:
Marshall

If that holds to be true that is 9 games. Most teams play 12 or 13 OOC games so that leaves 3-4 games that need to be filled. I assume that we are going to play Miami so that would be 10 plus probably a couple softies. All in all this is a much better non-league sked.

I am elated about this. I was at University of New Mexico from 1995-2000. I can't think of a tougher place to play than the Pit, so it will be a great challenge. Go Cats!

I don't believe Marshall is a true road game though. It is played in Charleston, WV.

Garbage article but if anyone is interested

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...cut-numero-uno

I just scanned it quickly and think Harkless (STJ) is leaving for the draft but he was omitted (I could be wrong).

Not sure how this article is garbage but thanks for posting. Always good to get a few bball articles in May.

Who cares. It is national attention. UC's basketball program needs attention in just about any way it can get it.

Just seems everyone writing about sports is trying to be Simmons or Reilly (sp?) - how about just giving facts, figures and your opinion rather than attempt comedy - here's a piece from the article:

"It's hard enough getting riled up about Pitt basketball in February. So why expect something out of me now?"

Why even write that? There's no news on Pitt hoops to report?
