Default Derek Wolfe

Wolfe quickly getting up to speed with Broncos
Quote:
Wolfe will be part of a rotation of defensive tackles that will include Justin Bannan, Kevin Vickerson and Ty Warren. He's already drawn the attention of defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.

Default Derek Wolfe Already Making Good Impressions At Broncos Camp

Quote:
Due to a quirk in the CBA regarding when rookies graduate from college and when they can begin work with their NFL teams, Wolfe missed all of Denver's offseason programs with the exception of its three-day minicamp in June.

Wolfe, though, has yet to show any ill effects as training camp has begun for the Broncos. According to defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, Wolfe was frustrated by the missed time but the team still has big plans for him:

"He's a guy that really cares. He's a high-energy guy. He's going to be a load when he's playing end, he'll be a mismatch, he can slide down and play tackle and will do both," Del Rio said. "I like the way he started camp."

Did you want them to draft him in the first round? D. Wolfe is good, but he is not first round good. And he was gone by the time the Bengals drafted in the second round.

i've got news for you otto, wolfe was being considered by several teams in round one and that was reported several weeks before the draft. we'll see how the cb from the sec school does, but the bengallies have a long history of underachieving draft picks. they are especially proficient in picking bodies, instead of character and hardworkers. the elite of the nfl find ways to get guys they know can help them. this organization is/has been about as poor in that area as anyone in the nfl. it's not a borderline call.

I don't question what you say about the Bengals. But DWolfe did not belong in the first round.

The Bengals job is to pick who they think will help them the best when it is their turn to pick. They already have some depth in the dline.

Just becuase Wolfe played at UC shouldn't matter when they draft. Unless we are talking about round 6 or 7.

Default Denver Broncos rookie defensive lineman Derek Wolfe a big hit so far

Quote:
Finally, as Derek Wolfe planted his hand in the Soldier Field dirt Thursday night, he was staring down a live target. After weeks of being told "Don't touch the quarterback," Wolfe couldn't wait to start a pass rush and finish it. Sure, Thursday was just a preseason game, and nothing that happened in Chicago will stick on Wolfe's NFL record. But with two sacks and another tackle for a loss, Wolfe made a good first impression.

Derek Wolfe getting some nice press:
Quote:
Big, mad Wolfe

Derek Wolfe is a blur.

Whether it’s making up for a lost offseason or slipping past offensive linemen, the Denver Broncos’ top draft choice is giving opposing coordinators and quarterbacks more to worry about in 2012 than just Pro Bowl pass-rushers Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller.

Rookies Wolfe and Reyes have impressed

“Wolfe is just a playmaker and an excellent interior pass-rusher. My worry with him is that with his leaner body type, how well he can hold up with a high snap count over the course of the season.

like trent cole, the scouts will look back in 5 years and realize wolfe was a first rounder. the curse/advanatge(depending on the perspective) of not playing in a power conference.
